as we know, no cheap/budget airlines operate between Bkk-HK so its a sellers market and tickets are not cheap.

However, Air Asia fly twice or even three times a day to Macau and the ferry service from Macau to HK are every 30 minutes and takes about an hour costing approx HK$150.

Interesting and different way to go

100 squid return....not bad.

I think Dragon Air is the closest you'll get to a budget airline travelling between BKK and HKG. That Cathay flight sounds like good value...

China Airlines 6990-00 Baht 30 day return BKK / HKG / BKK taxes / levies included in price. Must book online.

Not too bad a flight. Leaves at reasonable times each way.

Orient Thai is usually the cheapest option.... but their ancient B-747 are between 20-25 years old and I doubt that their maintenance work is close to perfect.....

Rather curt, eh? :o Maybe 'we' define cheap differently. When I flew Dragon Air for 6,000 Bt RT between BKK-HKG, I thought it was cheap. Getting the ticket was the novel part. Start by calling their local reservations agents.
