Govt 'Not Responsible' For US Blacklist Rumour
By Khaosod Online

BANGKOK: -- A top official has denied the allegation that the Thai government has been behind the rumour about a US blacklist on anti-government protest leaders.

In the reports circulated by a number of media and social network sites in the past week it was claimed that the US Embassy in Bangkok has blacklisted prominent protest leaders such as Mr. Suthep Thaugsuban from entering the United States due to their protest in front of the Embassy earlier this week.

The rumour was ultimately denied by US Ambassador to Thailand, Ms. Kristy Kenny, while an official at the US Embassy told Khaosod the embassy does not make public its blacklist procedures.

However, Democrat Party spokesperson Chawanon Intarakomalyasut accused the government of publicising the rumour to confuse the public and taint the reputation of Mr. Suthep and his fellow leaders in the People′s Committee for Absolute Democracy With the King As Head of State (PCAD).

But Ms.Sunisa Lertphakawat, the Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister′s Office, said in a press conference yesterday that the government did not spread the false rumour as alleged by Mr. Chawanond.

“Visa Process is an internal issue of each sovereign state, and Thailand could not intervene with any country’s decision” said Mr. Sunisa.

Noting that Mr. Chawanond has acted in defence of the PCAD leaders, Ms. Sunisa asked further whether Mr. Chawanond′s action is a proof that the opposition party and the anti-government protest leadership are of one body, contrary to the repeated claims made by Democrat leaders that the PCAD is not related to the opposition party.

If that is the case, she went on, she would like to ask for any responsibility from Democrat Party leader, Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva.

“The protesters had occupied many government buildings in Bangkok, obstructed the Election Registration procedures, and threatened the freedom of the press” said Ms. Sunisa, “That is barbaric and against the law.”

On 23 December, a group of PCAD protesters blocked the Thai-Japan stadium and prevented candidates from many parties to apply for next term’s General Election, which is expected to be held on 2 February. They had also cut off water and power supplies to some government buildings to pressure the officials.

“Mr. Abhisit should make sure that the protests of PCAD are under the law and against any use of violence”, Ms. Sunisa demanded, adding that one Pheu Thai Party official was prevented from leaving one of the besieged building and was unable to take his regular medication.

“What if something happened to him, would the Democrat Party be ready to account for that?” Ms. Sunisa asked.

She also warned that the leaders of Democrat Party should stop lying that they are not against the upcoming election, because "the eyes of the Thai and global citizens" have seen otherwise.

"They are ruining the proud history of the Democrat Party, whose name refers directly to a democratic system of governance. Sadly, they′d rather act in a contradictory way with their party name," Ms. Sunisa alleged.

the problem being that the current anti government anti Thaksin demonstrations are proving to be extremely strong and as such those demonstrations are exposing the truth concerning Thaksin and his puppet governments corruption and their multitude of devious actions to derail democracy and political freedom here in Thailand. .

The truth is generally considered to be a good thing; tat is when it is contrasted to a lie or lies when it meets with moral disapproval. But the truth is in this current situation viewed as uncomfortable, unwelcome, upsetting in both political and moral situations.

Now we can clearly see just how Thaksin and his ilk are affected. They feel the need to become defensive and offensive with their comments, the assorted spokespersons and propaganda machines are trying to polish the image of their and their puppet masters tawdry image.

This being due to Thaksin and his ilk having been exposed for what they were and still are as the party list for the P.T.P. so clearly shows us. They, Thaksin and the P.T.P. are, self serving corrupt power mad politically and morally corrupt creatures.

Thaksin and his ilk have been judged by the jury of the Thai people, that jury has returned a guilty judgement against Thaksin and his ilk.

The comments being attributed to another sovereign state are the rumours formulated by Thaksin and his ilk as part of their appeal process to the Thai people and their plea against the delivered verdict of ''guilty.'' by Thaksin and the P.T.P.

Desperate ends lead to desperate means.

If you look at the picture in the OP, have you ever seen a better picture of pure madness??

And for the "security" surrounding him, their collective IQ would reach a 100 on a good day!whistling.gif

Ofcourse Suthep is not worried about any blacklists. He probably believes he can walk on water!!

He always looks pompous & arrogant. If it has been staged for him to act like that then clearly they need a new stage manager. I have stated on numerous occasions the opposition PR machine quite frankly sucks. The anti government protesters need to have a back up leader with a humble attitude & start pushing him/her to the forefront.

Since when did being humble and passive win any political contest. ?

Let me see, were Churchill, Roosevelt, passive and humble in W.W.2. Likewise Eisenhower, Montgomery, , Wavell, Ord Wingate the men who took the D.Day beaches Okinawa etc ?

Being humble is a luxury only the winner can afford, and then in a very small measure.

Why would he be worried about a blacklist? Is he planning to fly to US anytime soon to lobby the congress to support his undemocratic agenda?

Sent from my GT-I9200 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

It is said he wants to run for President of the United States. And America is afraid he will win as he will promise a young bf or gf to anyone who wants one

Glad I could help with the truth

+1 Thank goodness there is at least one voice of reason among all the haters. Whatever people's personal feelings about Suthep, he has managed to make a lot of things happen and set Thailand on a course of reform which would never have happened without his extreme actions because Thaksin doesn't want it to happen. As long as Thaksin is there, extreme times call for extreme measures. If the Shin regime steps down then I am sure Suthep will enter into talks with whoever takes charge PROVIDED they are not a well known brown nosing Thaksin cronie...Everything the protestors are doing is happening because Thaksin refuses to take his claws out of Thailand, so BLAME THAKSIN for the roads being closed, or the BTS being packed or whatever silly little nitpick you have today....THE SHIN REGIME IS CORRUPT AND MADE UP OF CONVICTED CRIMINALS. This is no way to run a country especially when they are all under the command of a fugitive living in another country...

The only haters I've seen are Suthep supporters who hate Thaksin... with great ferocity it must be noted. First, please prove this administration is any more corrupt than any other. Remember the Peter and the wolf? You've screamed corruption without any proof so long no one is really listening to it anymore. Prove it if you can. Second, people have seen that your "political reforms" are simply going to be a form of voter suppression. Win or lose, the government was propertly elected. Your "People's Council" is a joke; just another way to steal power. Why don't you try taking over the Airport again? I'm sure you can find someone with connections to fix that for you again. Your postings are a joke.

How about loosing 18 spots in a year on the global corruption index? Thailand went from place 84 to 102 in 2013.

Just arrived?

Wow -= anyone who can follow the reasoning in this post would probably feel very at home in the demos.

But back to the original topic- of course these people who threatened to occupy American sovereign territory are on a black list.

Nothing to do with who is at the helm of Gov't.,

Embassys don''t make up that list.

Only a child would believe that the only eyes that are gazing at this madness are those of foreign ambassadors and embassy stqaff- Ever heard of JUSMAG?

And there is more... not just US either.

This was not an esitmate of corruption- it was an estimate of PERCEIVED corruption,.

And if you don't think that perceptions can be out of whack with reality- read some of the posts on this forum!

I don't know where you have been in the last couple of years- but in Thailand much of the media (anti red) has been insinuating massive gov't corruption- but never providing proof or even evidence.

Of course, the perception will be that corruption is at an all time high. Do that poll at a rally and you willl see Thailand become number one for corruption.

All respect- but don't you think it is a bit sleazy to proffer a poll as being something than what it was intended to be?

In other words- lieing is not part of the scientific method!

It is amazing that a mere photograph could enable a reader to establish the IQ of a another person, their mental state and the ability of another person to perform miraculous feats that defy the laws of nature.

It is a gift that needs to be to be acknowledged, so this mortal can pay respect and homage to a truely omnipotent deity.

Like I said, prove the corruption is Thaksin. You've silly stated a corruption poll with no fault assessed or explanations given. Simple minds will believe anything they're told. "Show me the money!"

If you haven't seen the posts from the Suthep haters I can recommend a good optician. One even calls him Sutheppi - a caricature of Mussolini.

As Nickymaster has pointed out the countries transparency position has plunged in one year.

Another extreme example of corruption was the amnesty attempt, where, all for one criminal's benefit, accused criminals and thousands under investigation would be given a pardon.

The government was elected but if vote-buying means 'properly', then you just haven't a clue about the farcial democracy here. If, on the other hand, you believe an election is the sole facet of democracy - a bit more education is needed.

As for your comment about the airport I can categorically state that Siampolee didn't organise that protest. wink.png

Well, I can't think of a better caricature for someone who wants to replace an elected government with his own unelected committee myself. Corruption is endemic in this country; do you really believe your side is so innocent? If Thaksin's stronghold is rural areas there really is no need to buy votes, is there?

If you think you can convince me Suthep really believes in democracy perhaps I should refer you to a psychiatrist.

The embassy is saying there is no blacklist.

But anonymous internet poster blaze says there is a blacklist for these people.
