The election should be caned now. At this rate the death toll will be past the 90 odd from 2010 before it is held.

Hop on board the Merry Go Round, all your favorite colours to choose....it's never ending stupidity. These clowns who call themselves politicians should hand themselves into His Most Royal Highness now for his forgiveness and guidance.

The problem is either of the main two politicial parties can only think of the other being the problem, and being out to destroy the other, thereby missing the obvious in that they as a whole are the problem. The politicial parties influence on Thailand total governance needs sliced down to less than 50% for a while with the balance of greater shared by the bussiness sector, the judiciary, and other professional and social groups etc. and kept with a watch ful eye from the Army until the politicial arm can learn to play with others. Only then should they be then allowed to gradually win over to the politicial side a greater proportion of the original power holders.

Sir ,i read your post with amazement.

You talk about the main two political parties, excuse me but what have the reds done????

I only see the yellows refusing to accept democracy, and taking to the streets, committing untold violence.Politics do not interst me,especialy since we cannot vote, but i do see extreme violence by the yellows, beause thay cannot get majority of votes

8 death is a small price to pay.

Compare with how many who died on the road already from the 1st 2 days of new year holiday.

8 from stupidity, 30+ and counting from accidents led by stupidity.

Why would you cancel the elections and reward Suthep. If you did he would have himself anointed supreme leader

and suspend democracy indefinitely. Then the Reds would have to march to restore democracy to have a voice in

government. Suthep would not be nearly as patient and calm as Yingluck. Live ammunition would be used on the first

peaceful protest. The death toll will Suthep in charge would skyrocket. Just look at his past record. While you may

not agree with Red shirt policy (I don't) I do believe in democracy. The Reds were marching for democracy the

yellows to end democracy. Suthep may say it is to end corruption, but both sides are equally corrupt. Does anyone

actually believe he wants to end corruption in politics, or do you support him because you want anyone but

Thaksin/Yingluck? Just remember Suthep did nothing to end corruption in the years they were in power. By all

accounts he did everything he could to line his pockets and corruption skyrocketed. However there was no rice scheme.

99% claptrap with your final sentence wrong.

The Democrats had a sensible rice mortgage scheme that cost a fraction of the money to run and put more money in the poor farmers pockets whilst Thaksin's rice scam rewards his mates and the rice millers and exporters.

add the 8 dead to Suthep's charges he is already facing.

Demonstrating against the amnesty bill was one thing and legitimate - getting reforms started was long overdue but Suthep is just another rotten scoundrel, corrupt politician clearly not the man for the job.

After the democrats where in power he wants to topple an elected government to force them to introduce reforms? A bit late isn't it? What did the democrats do while in government? Oh yes pleasing their bosses from the military.

Get rid of him now. Start the reform process - listen to and include all sides - but not interest groups who are holding the country back.

Reforms will take a long time - with a culture of corruption so deeply rooted in Thailand it will be a mega task to implement and enforce changes.

Thailand needs a vision for the future - if no reforms are forthcoming after the elections then ALL Thais have a good reason to go on the streets and demonstrate - regardless of shirt color united for a better Thailand.

But the process needs a person who can unite and "sell" this process and reach out to both sides - and not play one side against the other - Suthep will NEVER be acceptable to a majority of Thais.

What is being done now is only dividing the nation further.

Anyone know if Yingluck's 8 premeditated murder charges/convictions will run concurrently or will be served one after the other? Assuming a 15 year jail term for each of her slaughtered victims, she will be very very old when she gets out of Bang Kwang. The way she is clinging to power there will be many more murders of the peaceful protesters demanding democracy and rule of law. So sad, and so avoidable, Thailand must urgently ratify an extradition treaty with UAE as soon as PTP reign ends to allow the sponsor of this mayhem to face his well deserved punishment as well.

You are being ridiculous in your claims, this is exactly why nothing will change while everything is continuously flogged to the extreme in reactions ... people like you will dam_n this county to stagnation and polarization.

I sincerely given up to expect to have a balanced reasoning with many posters here. Too many extremists, repeating the same well known things ad libitum.

I even had to read someone telling it's sure been a red shirt to kill the protester last night. They have the truth, they are always right. No need to even try to reasoning with them, or you will be labeled red-shirt or idiot...

rolleyes.gifrolleyes.gifwhistling.gif I think if you both took time to learn about the situation in Thailand before you commented then your 'perceptions' would be a little more accurate and you would stop making fools of yourselves with comments on a forum not populated by 'extremists' , but by people who are very knowledgable in almost all aspects of daily news in this country. What you will find Jaidam is driving at is that Abhisist and Suthep have been charged by the DSI with Premeditated Murder Of many of the 90 people killed during the riots in 2010. Yes it is ridiculous isn't it, but if they have been charged with premeditated murder, then precedence is set and there can be no reason why Yingluck is not charged with the same. Perhaps Yingluck has abandoned her post as 'care taker' prime minister (which she has insisted on keeping) and traveled for her little jaunts around the North during a time of National crisis to somehow try and claim she was not part of the decision making process, and she is therefore not guilty of any crimes in the same way Abhisit was because he stayed in Bangkok.

Maybe you should just try to understand that my statement was referred to the whole madness going on on the news forum in the last month, and not just at the specific thread...

And sorry, next time I will have my opinion, before make a fool of myself I will ask to you to certify that my opinion is intelligent and right.

Peace.

Why? Does it take that long to view what the cameras pick up?

Does the prime minister have a comment about these deaths? Where is she? What is she doing? Has anyone seen her?

I see her last week in Lom Sak if that helps.

Doing what?

I am not sure what you mean with this, do you actually believe that Yingluck ordered this killings or... The only ones i know stand accused of murder is then vice premier Suthep and his boss dating back from demonstrations in 2010. As i see it Yingluck has done all in her power to avoid bloodshed, and she is now in a caretaker function as the constitution demands. By all means, as a foreigner, let Suthep have his way with a democratic poples committee, nothing i can do about that, but luckily i can choose if i want to continue to stay in a country run by an unelected dictator, with a political agenda that smells of power to him, not to the people.

And do you believe that Abhisit and Suthep ordered the killings of protestors ? Concerning Din Dang last week, the Reds on here said 'If the protestors weren't there it wouldn't have happened'. Well right back at you morons ! In 2010 they were told to leave and they didn't, they were told the army would come in and they armed themselves with their stolen heavy artillery to fight the army. Som nam na.

The 'murder' charges against AV and ST were brought by the government in an effort to force them to agree to Thaksin's bullshit amnesty because if they agreed to it then their bs charges would also be whitewashed. But Av and ST surprised the PT crooks by saying 'NO' because they know the charges are bs and they know they will win, however this will always be hanging over their heads, but once they are cleared they will sue the government for slandering their good names I am sure. . So the ONLY reason Yingluck doesn't have the police massacre the protestors is because she knows there will likewise be calls for her to be charged for murder, if there aren't then it is gross hypocrisy and more ammo for those who dislike her. For the students and protestors that died, she is every bit as responsible. 'Men in black did it, wasn't us' - they are government stooges. She is responsible. She has committed many crimes already in the name of her brother. ''Oh but she didn't do it herself, other MP's did' - BUT SHE IS THE PM and she is ultimately responsible for the actions of her party and its members. Not attending parliament in no way absolves her of any wrrongdoing ! She agreed to work as Thaksin's puppet, she accepteed the responsibility of office so she must accept the consequences of her actions or lack of actions.

I am getting more convinced that there are a lot of posters on TV that have a totally boring life sitting in their house in a village with nothing to do but drink and eat and ocassionally dribble BS on Thai Visa which then upsets somebody who also has nothing better to do in their little house in the village. I ignore the crap and only read the interesting comments. BTW I dont live in Thailand and have an active life, been flying gliders all weekend, Plus lots of other sports and activities that do not exist in Thailand. I await plenty more BS !

Wow flying gliders all weekend and still had time for lots more sports activities that they don't have in Thailand.

Well we are very grateful you could divert some of your attention to the tragic souls on this forum.

I'm having cake.

Please explain then why when protesters were killed in 2010 Abhisit has been charged with murder yet in similar circumstances you fervently believe that Yingluck should not be so charged?

Edited for bad spelling.

"We have evidence that showed that Mr. Abhisit and Mr. Suthep ordered security forces to disperse the protesters and authorized the use of weapon and live ammunition," said spokesman Nanthasak Poonsuk of the attorney general's office." WSJ

There is no such evidence implicating Yingluck Shinawatra in any deaths.

Confuscious say ... "Man who fly glider should be accustomed to hot air !" rolleyes.gif

But your point, about isolated posters needing to let off steam is a fair one, ThaiVisa helps a lot of people understand slightly-better the local culture & news, which is good, especially for someone stuck in a remote village who is frustrated or irate at times.

Then again, there are now many thousands of farangs living here, who bring with them a wide experience of other 3rd-world countries where they've lived & worked, as well as their first/new-world roots and education. I myself experienced African & Middle-Eastern dictatorships, as well as western-democracies, before I reached here for example.

Sometimes these farangs can see things, which may not be immediately apparent, to some locals with a more limited world-view ? For example that the gradual emergence from a feudal society with paternalistic regional power-brokers, towards a more democratic modern-world country, can bring threats as well as opportunities.

And we care enough about Thais & Thailand, to observe and discuss what we see, thanks to this wonderful new technology which allows us to chat on-line. It does at times feel a little like an extended bar-conversation, but is hopefully more educational and informed, than one small circle of local expats might be.

There may be pearls amongst the BS ! wai2.gif

If there are particular posters, whom you feel you will never learn anything from or be entertained by, there is a helpful 'Ignore' function to enable you to avoid wasting time, on their opinions or musings.

Now it's that time for politicans in power to hire and pay mercenary gunmen, men in black or whoever to strike fear into the opposition's protesters.

t's also an act of revenge: "You killed our Redshirt protesters in 2010, now we kill your Anti -government people." and vice versa, so violence will never stop.

That's a ridiculous allegation.
