My friend, UK national, was planning to marry his g/f, Thai national. He has the 'free to marry'documentation from the

embassy, and translation but cannot get it from Ministry of Foreign Affairs due to 'events'. He has only a limited window before going back to the UK. Does anyone know if they can get married in Laos or Malaysia or even Singapore, she has apassport!; and what documentation would be needed by them both? As you know getting g/f back to UK to marry fraught withdifficulties and expensive!

Marriage in another coutnry requires the documents required by that country, and for the both of them.

If the MFA can not help him in time, he can try the MFA-office in Chiang Mai and get the legalisation there. No demonstrations there.

The legalisation office is just outside of Chiang Mai city, at the ground floor of the provincial hall next to the passport office there.
