extending my triple entry visa

Featured Replies

My triple entry use before stamp date from the USA ends on Feb 11.After the 60 day and the 30 day extension ,I must leave Thailand around May 8-10 . I want to stay in Issan,Thailand at least to the middle of June.My question is if I go to Vientiane to the Thai embassy during that time or the first week of May can I apply for a(single entry) 60 day visa. I appreciate someone’s advise. I will end my question here but I might have further questions to come.

You most likely will get a single entry tourist visa. It would be wise to have evidence of how you are supporting yourself financially . They may wish to see evidence of adequate remittances from outside Thailand.

You will not have a problem getting a single entry.

They only deny if you have back to back visas from them and even then they give a single entry instead of a 2 entry.

Yes. But if you just do a border run on the last day you will get 30 day permission to stay (as of 1 Nov 2013) on a visa exempt entry with no visa. It might fit your needs without getting another visa.

I decided to take your advise and do the boarder run for the Visa Exempt entry of 30 days instead of applying for a single entry visa in Vientiane . Leaving on the 8th of June with my flight back to the states for June 8.

Thanks Wayned

Hi,

Im a uk citizen, me and my boyfriend bought a 2 entry visa before we left to come to thailand, I thought we had longer than we do and unfortunately our first entry visas run out on the 2nd of January. Im currently in Chiang mai but because it is Christmas the visa immigration place is closed till mid January.

Do you no if we make a trip to the Burma boarder we would be able to extend our visa by just 15 days as we have already booked places past the 2nd jan or would there be problems with this?

Any help is really appreciated! :)

Immigration will only be closed from the 31st to the 4th and will be open on the 5th of January. I don't know where you heard they would closed until the middle of the month.

If you are wanting to extend your 60 day entry you could do it now. You loose nothing by doing it early because the extension starts from when the 60 days ends.

Hi thank you so much for this, I got that information from here: https://www.gov.uk/government/world/organisations/british-embassy-bangkok/office/the-consulate-in-chiang-mai

That correct you reckon?

That is for the UK consulate not Thai immigration.

Immigration will be open on Christmas day since it is not a Thai holiday.

Ahhhhh amazing, you don't know the details for the thai immigration that I need or the address as I'm obviously being stupid and can't find it, really appreciate this :)

Immigration does not post its holidays on their website because the are only closed on Thai public holidays.

You will need a completed TM7 application form with an attached 4cm X 6cm photos. Download and print 2 sided. http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/download/pdf/tm7.pdf

You will need copies of your passport photo page, visa, entry/permit to stay stamp and TM6 departure card. Plus 1900 baht for the fee.

You should get to immigration early in the morning. They open at 8:30 and close at 16:30.

Immigration in Chiang Mai is near the airport.

Address: 71 Moo 3 Amphoe Mueang Chiang Mai
