Does anyone know if it is possible to get a non imm 'O' visa in Vientiane. It seems like everyone is talking about KL. Is it really impossible to get one in Laos? I am married, have all the correct paperwork but need to go to Laos on business so it would be handy to kill 2 birds with one stone....

You should be able to get an 'O' in Vientianne, but it will most probably be a single entry one.

If it's a multi you want then from reading on the forum it seems the best place to get a multi entry 'O' is Penang.

Penang has always been the best place but in the last few months there have been many days when the multi would not be issued to those applying for the first time from feedback we have seen here.

I obtained a single NIO at Laos 2 weeks ago. I paid for single, I could have paid for a multi if I wanted it..... but why would I want it.... I want to stay here!! Chiangmai Immigration is much nearer to visit for an extension

But having said that.... we will be retuning to Laos at some stage as their bread is really scrummy.
