Bangkok International Auto Salon, an aftermarket exhibition, is ramping up its spending on this years event in a move to be Aseans auto showcase.

Event organiser Inspire Entertainment, a subsidiary of Siam Sport Syndicate Plc, the sports media enterprise, plans to raise its budget by 10% from 300 million baht last year.

Wiluck Lohtong, Siam Sport Syndicates president, said more foreign exhibitors, mainly from Japan, China and Europe, would participate in the event from July 19-29 at Challenger Hall, Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani.

Last year, the event had about 300 exhibitors, with 15% from overseas. This year, organisers aim to raise the proportion of foreign exhibitors to 40%.
