Finally someone of the PDRC itself recognizes that this irrational protest represents only a small minority.

It is quite refreshing to read the truth, for once, after being obliged to hear Suthep say (and plenty of naive farangs to repeat it) that he represents the "people".

After this, I hope that they also realize that they speak total nonsense and that their movement to overthrow an elected government is not only criminal but also ridiculous

Peaceful my behind, neither of these groups are. I live part time in the south, it's my second home and although I wouldn´t label southerners thugs, they are pretty nasty an intolerant in general.

You have to ask yourself, if you don´t count Phuket and other touristy places, if South is the richest part of Thailand... howcome it's not as developed as the central parts of Thailand?

They do have a right to protest as much as the north-eastern had, but stopping people from going to work, cutting off water and electricity, dragging people off the buses, just because they suspect they belong to the other camp and beat them up... all of these things do not belong in a peaceful protest.

I visited Suthep's walk yesterday. Maybe 1000-2000 supporters. This is his hardcore group. Quite ridiculous.

In evenings and weekends they are more, but still a tiny minority. Most Bangkokians are annoyed by being denied to live their lifes, go to work or make a living.

He was lead part of the 1970s protests and one of the ones that sparked the 1073 protests and present at the student massacre of 76.

He led The NSCT which as an example led tens of thousands of people in public protests against the regimes. However, one of the first activities of the NSCT was a 10-day boycott against Japanese products, in protest against Japanese investments in Thailand.

Six million out of a population of, say, sixty six million. Let's see now........ yup, that's a minority.

A couple of other facts you might want to consider. Firstly the BBC did not report six million people on the street, thousands was as high as they went, other sources said hundreds at some sites. Secondly, you are correct to not count those that did not come out. You have no idea which side they support, if any.

This renowned scholar was one of the students protesting against the government in 1973. That was when some UDD leaders were still communists having training on 'democracy' in Vietnam.
