Protest leader Suthep rejects compromise, negotiation

Time to take him away and give him a warm cocoa, pat him on the head and say down boy.

Completely unhinged, even his masters must be cringing now.

..and let the Shin's and their cronies continue to rape this country.

Quote from one of Suthep's leaders (Khun Seri) which shows that with this level of intelligence negotiation will never happen as they are deluded they can win

“Do they think we're stupid? It’s proven people with yellow skin are smarter than people with white skin,

Just blind racism, nothing new...

he cant back down to a woman oh the shame of it .............

A captain always goes down with his ship whistling.gif

Reminds me of Cpt Ahab in Moby Dick

Captain Ahab was prophetically named. He was motivated by revenge against the cetatean that bit off his leg. Captain Ahab perished "at the hands", so to speak, of the white whale before it sank the Pequod killing all but one of the crew. This literary analagy may yet be the figurative fate of the PCAD's captain Ahab.

Forget not the infamy of Ahab (7th King of isreal) "And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did more to provoke the Lord God of Isreal to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him". I Kings 16:33 Or that he was slain by an arrow randomly shot at his army during battle, in which he had disguised himself so that he would not be recognised as the leader. I Kings 22.30 and 34.

Blimey mate, steady on! Much more of this and I will have to lie down in a darkened room! Edited by JAG

Fact is the BKK shutdown is damaging the people who support Suthep.beginning to hurt hard now, businesses losing money, jobs lost.I wonder if the PRDC thought through a strategy that is hurting supporters and potential ones?Looking around A couple of sites .I would suggest the vast majority of protestors are from outside the city. The Bangkokians have gone home

Oh i couldnt care less where Yinglucks ship ends up thats been heading for the rocks for a while just as long as this clown dosnt get the chance to scupper democracy.

Actually it would be really cool if a small coalition partner somehow ended up in the seat for a change, they cant do any worse......... i think rolleyes.gif

Yes agreed. if we wanted to run the job we would have to acquire work permits, we couldn't do any more harm, to dream----no visa---buy your land for your house----work your own business---get a police job, morning 9am road block at the end of the soi-----tell your neighbor to shut it---and her dogs-----punch a jet ski bloke---slash tyers of a taxi for overcharging----and have no drink ban on the special days IN TOURIST AREAS----ATM fees scrapped.cheesy.gif

" National police chief, Adul Saengsingkaew, said the police must be cautious in arresting Mr Suthep, adding that a step-by-step plan has been mapped out. "

This " step-by-step plan " that has been mapped out doubtless ensures that - by 2020 - Suthep will be just where CAPO wants him.

A word of caution, however. As always, Thaksin is so focused on one man, that he cannot see anything else. Thaksin makes the mistake - as apparently do many of the members of the administration - that this protest is dependent on only one man - that if he were apprehended - all those supporters, and the convictions that they have - that they would all disappear. Not only is this a dangerous assumption, but quite the contrary, any move on Suthep would cause the protest to go absolutely ape. It would change the whole dynamic on the street. It would, indeed, turn into an angry mob, which it most definitely isn't now. ( For clear reference, just think Ratchaprason, 2010 ).

Thaksin has privately wished - fervently - since 2006 to have this amnesty bill passed. It was. He got his wish. And this is what resulted. Therefore Thaksin should now be aware of the timeless adage we were continually taught as children

- be careful what you wish for.

How do you know Thaksin is so focussed on one man, have you been Skypeing with Thaksin?

Or is it your opinion?

And there speaks the voice of reason and common sense. Kingalfred is no worshipper of Thaksin, yet even he can see the idiocy of Sutheps actions...........what is that old saying "you don't s**t on your own doorstep". But of course, the Dear Leader is NOT from Bangkok, and probably regards them as expendable fools.

Suthep and the Dems have never been willing to negotiate or compromise since years...

Yingluck has been open to negotiate, sent many offers to sit together, but it was systematically refused by the anti-democracy side.

The only solution now is to let them damage their reputation even more so that more and more people turn to PT in the next election.

The Dems will be flattened... And Suthep will end up in prison. Perfect rolleyes.gif

Remember in 2010 the reds wouldn't negotiate. When they were offered an election they just made new demands. You can't honestly say that either side is willing to give an inch. The next election will be nullified or cancelled so it doesn't matter how many seats the pt wins. If the protesters win you will see the reds back in the streets next year using the same tactics. No high ranking politician will see any serious jail time.

Link please?

Surely if Abhisit offered parliament dissolution and new elections you can find one. Only a conditional offer of an obscure "roadmap" upon surrender of red leadership, immediate dispersion of protesters, etc.was made, a very different proposition to new elections. The reds went back in the street asking what they asked from the start, elections.

The rantings of an increasingly unhinged man. He has backed himself into a corner. Some of his on-stage rhetoric has even eclipsed that of Jatuporn at the height of the red shirt campaign of 2010. Talk of hunting down the families, siblings and children of cabinet ministers. Hmm. I think many of his supporters quietly embarrassed by his words. It will be interesting to see if the government has drawn a line in the sand as to how long they will allow this disruption to go on. I beleive that most of your average Bangkok residents are fed up with the disruption to their lives. I know I am.

Whilst I agree it has gone a little over the top, his rhetoric has not even come close to 'murder our opponents' and 'burn the city to the ground' as the reds did. When it gets that far I will join you in your condemnation of his speeches...

Elitism in place of democracy ,this man deserves the penalties ...his failed attempts to promote an elite in BGK can only be seen as dissent with the people that believe in a democratic state that allows a vote, this guy promotes his distaste of people he feels are below him...welcome to democracy...and change ur shirt....

He won't negotiate. He won't compromise. Can you imagine what type "people's council" he would approve? He is ashill for the establishment. If he won't negotiate or compromise , then why hasn't the military moved to remove him? Why isn't the military supported the legally elected government and defending Thailand against this anarchy?

Why would you arrest your friend?

What anarchy? The people have every right to remove a corrupt government that has no scruples!!

Suthep biography . . .
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suthep_Thaugsuban

Deputy PM under the UNELECTED Abhisit government.
WikiLeaks US Embassy cables showed many in his own party long complained about his corrupt and unethical behavior.
Dodgy dealings with land title deeds in Phuket, leading to the dissolution of parliament.
Outstanding murder charges as a result of his direct orders to soldiers causing death and injury to red-shirt protestors in 2010.

And this is the guy who will get rid of corruption in Thailand? I don't think so.

Hardly a surprise in view of Jatuporn and co's self-same approach to the Democrats in 2010, wherein they continually moved the goalposts despite Ahbisit's ultimately agreeing to their demands. But with each side [protesters] as stubborn as the other, someone - or something - needs to give, or there will never be progress with the demands of either side.

There have long been dodgy land dealings involving politicians of all stripes. Why do you think big brother, TS, is in absentia? And with the case still ongoing, I haven't yet heard of any evidence that Suthep gave direct orders to soldiers that led to the 2010 deaths, nor the nature of any orders that he did give. You do know, I suppose, that Tharit Pengdit, the head of the DSI which is responsible for the investigation, was also a member of the CRES in 2010 - though he claims he had no responsibility for operational decisions. You also seem to be implying that the redshirt leaders were completely devoid of culpability.

Hi Jonmarleesco - I certainly did not say or imply the red-shirts are "completely devoid of culpability." I'm just suggesting that Suthep's background does not suggest he will be the savior of Thailand. I have no answer for the endemic corruption in Thai society - better education maybe?

"We will neither negotiate nor compromise. The People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) will fight until we win"

Clearly he has no conception of democracy. Seems he is a) insane b)wants to be dictator c) has powerful friends who keep the boys with nets from returning him to the sanitarium d) total narcissist e) typical corrupt Thailand politician.

Choose all you think fit, and add to if you wish. If somehow his puppet masters win, it will be a Pyrrhic victory, and short lived at that.
