webfact
Kim Jong-un executes uncle's relatives: report SEOUL: -- North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has reportedly put to death a number of surviving relatives of his executed uncle Jang Song-thaek, including children. Quoting "multiple sources", a report from South Korean news agency Yonhap says the relatives include North Korea's ambassadors to Cuba and Malaysia, who were both related to Mr Kim's uncle by marriage. Mr Jang, once a powerful mentor to Mr Kim, was dragged out of a party meeting, tried and executed last month on charges of attempting to overthrow the communist regime. The report says all direct relatives of Mr Jang have been executed. "Extensive executions have been carried out for relatives of Jang Song-thaek," one source told the agency. "All relatives of Jang have been put to death, including even children." simple1
Are the executions of the children substantiated? Report is from a South Korean media organisation quoting 'sources', so far no other third party confirmation http://english.yonhapnews.co.kr/northkorea/2014/01/26/0401000000AEN20140126000800315.html

Dibbler
It's difficult to verify any of this. Wild rumors abound about everything North Korean. One recent story is that he had his uncle killed by putting him naked in a cage with starved dogs. That appears now to have been a story drummed up by Chinese media to show how mean KJu is and therefore to discredit the China government for having relations with him. Take these stories with a grain of salt...

Frank James
Why do reports say N. Korea is a "communist regime" its not. Its a "Dictatorship" and the worst one the world has ever seen in modern times. Yes, it is most certainly a rotten, foul dictatorship, but "worst"...Pol Pot regime....Idi Amin regime...Saddam Hussein...Gaddafy....Asaad....Duvalier...Sukarno/Suharto...Marcos Lots of contenders. Meanwhile, Little Chubby is saying he'll allow another family reunion N/S (on his turf), IF the US and South Korea cancel their annual war games. Last time he withdrew the offer after families had made plans. The good news...there are a lot of people living in NK who are silently, patiently working toward ending this foul crime family's 70 year reign of terror. Popular Post kamahele
While this sounds terrible, the N. Korean government is responsible for much worse. The starvation of millions of citizens no doubt especially children and the enslavement in work camps of generations of citizens. It is hard to believe that there are families that have been in jail for 3 generations because of something they may or may not have said about this nuts' grandfather. While horrifying to hear of the slaughter of this one privileged family, we must look at this as a small tragedy inside a much larger one.
