I fall under category 7.20 under police order 606/2549 and soon need to extend my stay. In order to do so, I need to obtain a confirmation letter and request issued by the chief of the government agency concerned (point 3 of the requirements). In my case, this comes from the MoL. However, due to the shut down, the MoL Department issuing this letter is not working...now I am wondering what to do? I could show up at immigration and explain the situation and showing copies of these letters I always obtained for previous extensions, however, I fear the bureaucrats and paper shufflers in immigration just won't accept the application without this letter, no matter of the circumstances. Any advice? Trying to avoid a visa run to get a another non-B as it would mean I have to take whole family.

Apologies, it is 2.21 and I need (3) which in my case is issued by MoL and as per above, the department is not working due to shut down.

There some Department of Employment offices for work permits that are open but I am not sure they can help.

Clause 2.21 states if you cannot get the document listed under 3 you can get a 90 day extension. This might be an option for you.

Yes, I also read this but I had a similar issue once and immigration told me to get a new non-B for 90 days at an embassy. How does the Thai version read - maybe the translation is unclear
