Prize-winning Russian concert pianist playing in Pattaya early March

Featured Replies

A solo piano concert by one of Russia’s top young concert pianists, Andrey Gugnin, will be held on March 1st at the Parkview Hall, Siam Bayshore Hotel, 7pm. Gugnin won second prize at the Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna last year.

The program will comprise all Russian music: Rachmaninoff, Mussorgsky and Prokofiev.

Tickets are available from the Siam Bayshore Hotel for 1,000 baht for seats in the first five rows and 500 baht for all other seats.

This is Gugnin’s second visit to Thailand. He played in 2008 with the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra.

However, on this occasion, he is only playing in Pattaya. Further information: http://www.pattayaclassicalmusic.com

Gugnin will also play an all-Beethoven recital at the Music Room at Eelswamp, Nongplalai, on 4th March at 6pm.

Is this still the Pattaya forum? Isn't there a more appropriate Russian classical music forum this could be moved to?

Tchaikovsky, of all composers, cannot be played to death, especially his first piano concerto. But the other composers on the program are great.
