SOUTH CRISIS
Four killed in latest attack in Pattani

PATTANI: -- Latest insurgent attack killed four including assistant district chief and injured five others in Pattani's Khok Pho district on Sunday.

Pattani Governor Wittaya Panitchpong expressed regrets on the death of the four by insurgents who he said had very well planned for the attacks.

The victims were Khok Pho's assistant district chief Jakkra Promkaew, 49 and three others were soldiers; Sgt Rugrueng Klarob, 34, Sgt Thotsaphorn Choteklang and Private Samruey Supanmuang, 22.

The governor said the insurgents lured security officials to rush to a scene by shooting at village defence volunteers. When the officials, including the four victims, were on the way to the site, they hid along the roadside and triggered an explosive. They then fired at the group.

RT@tulsathit: NationTV: It's estimated that 12 million ppl did not or could not cast ballots as result of absence of candidates or blockade.

RT@tulsathit: NationTV: House absolutely can't make 95% quorum. Constitution Court may be asked to rule if entire election is null and void.
