have you checked the app store? 10.6 has the App Store already (and if it's incompatible with 10.6 it'll warn you). I assume there's a reason why you don't want to update to 10.9.

I think usenet clients are very much a "personal preference". it might work but you might hate it, so you just gotta try.

Yes, SABNZB is very good. NZB Drop is also good but not free.
