You can ask and maybe they will allow it, there are no guarnetees on that.

Another option is to get a re-entry permit before you leave after 5 days. That will keep your original 60 day permission to stay alive. Re-entry permit costs 1,000 baht.

...did not allow at immigration in Nong Khai, had to use visa entry.

just to check before going to Jomtien immigration: is it a std practice to allow re-entry with 60-day tourist visa without having to use 2nd entry (as long as timing withing first 60 days)?

is there a limit on how many exits can be done?

You will have no problem getting a re-entry permit.

Re-entry permits are single (1,000 baht) or multiple (3,800 baht). They allow you to re-enter during your original 60 day stay. They do not add any days for you being out of the country.

Take copy of passport and arrival card and a passport photo.

One more question: how long does the processing of application take? Can get same day or next day?

thanks again. quick replys here!

Same day. Dependent upon how busy the immigration office is you could have it in a matter minutes.

is there anything specifc i need to do at passport control when departing from and/or coming back to thailand? or is it so that

immigration officers can see this from their systems based on the arrival card or passport number?

When you enter the country be sure you write the re-entry permit number in the space for a visa number. Some people even write re-entry permit above the number. Then check your stamp before leaving the arrival area to be sure it is correct.
