Travel/life insurance long term in Thailand

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I am going to move soon from UK to Thailand for opening a small business. I would like to know if is there any good long term travel or any health insurance will cover me without costing me lots of money in Thailand?

Also I like to mention, I am 51 years old British citizen.

Thanks for all your advices.

Are you planning to return to the UK at intervals or permanently locating to Thailand?

If you're "moving" here (which suggests you're not just visiting the country for a prolonged period but intend to settle down here), you're not eligible for any travel insurance, but must take out a regular health insurance with either a local or international provider.

A good company that you may want to look up is BUPA Blue Cross. Their health insurance packages provide excellent coverage and are valid worldwide:

Worldnomads.com offers both travel insurance (can cover you for a 12 month period) and trip insurance as well.

I have it and have never had a claim and that is always where the die is cast. It does get good reviews from those that have made claims.

Try Columbus.online

You can use a Thai address and be covered for holiday trips

I think the cost for 2 annual travel insurance is approx 220USD
