I lived in a poor area and one of my younger friends' mother would have been a perfect surrogate. She loved being pregnant, but was a really poor mother. Her husband had died when my friend and his brother were just toddlers. She went on to have 8 or 9 more kids, which she proceeded to neglect.

But she loved being pregnant and she was as happy as could be once she had a bun in the oven. Too bad that in those days you couldn't be a surrogate. She would have jumped at the chance and there would be a handful of kids who probably would have grown up in a much better situation.
