Annoying Security Guard/Thai @ Drunk

I just been to my local shop for a few leo, minding my own business, and a security guard that works beside my place starting talking to me,

"youd youd Ajarnn Ajarnn, work there," I was thinking xxxx off you fool I used to work there, I m not in the mood..

I ignored him

He keep on with his Thai speak, and getting louder and louder I wasn't even looking at him but kept on speaking with me, so I told the shop worker who could speak English to tell him I don't speak Thai I don't know what he is talking about lol?

After this he started repeating "You not Thai you drink Heineken" "You not Thai you drink Heineken" "Leo for Thai people" over an over I look him up and down in his bright blue uniform I taught to myself you fool how could I even possible have a conservation with the like's of you even if I spoke Thai.., there was a smell of drink in the shop so he must of been drinking as usually the Thai's around here don't say boo until they have been drinking too much Thai whiskey.

Would he of approached a Thai with this drunken rant I wonder?

Anyway it didn't really bother me, but what bothered me was not been able tell him to <deleted> off and stop annoying my head?. In the nicest possible way?

How do you say this in Thai? I have just started learning Thai at a language school.

Yes he would have approached Thai and they would have had few drinks together thumbsup.gif

Yea sure I have been offered a beer at the same shop and joined some decent Thais for a beer no problem on the weekend, but this guy was over the top and was not offering a beer just standing in the shop ranting/shouting when I obliviously didn't want to hear it..

smile stupid, say yes to everything and take care specially to say yes when it really doesn't fit. Like for "you drink Leo or Heineken"--> Yes

Gives him the feeling you don't understand anything but you are friendly......

Works after a while.....

<deleted> what is it with that?

Appropriate effort, register for the context. This isn't the place to comment on spelling or grammar.

And the Thais know all about peanuts & monkeys, if they don't care why should you?

Suppose you teach at SS Witalayai's IP? Talk about monkey houses. . .

Had a guard for about a year working the day shift at our condo, who although wasn't drunk on the job, did annoy me quite often with his daily questions. Why are you home so early today? What's in your bag? Where are you going? You like som tam? Etcetera....

I learned to smile and give short answers that were always the same. Finished work! Beer! The market! No!

I realize he was just curious as to the life of a westerner and my Thai at that time wasn't very good. (Still isn't LOL) If I said too much he would hit me with a barrage of Thai that I just couldn't understand. Now he is gone and I kinda miss him as the other two security guards along with his replacement never say anything, just sit in their booth smoking.

From the author of such gems as. "is the 7/11 guy gay, the legalities of selling pharmaceutical drugs, just seen a Thai guy with a big boner" comes his latest entry and Thai bashing about a drunken security guard.

Dear Mr, Can't eat chili and not a fan or rice,

You are an unlikely person to be living in Thailand. Your life is filled with drama here. I'd say you are fast approaching the title of drama queen or king whichever flip flop fits. Not only are you having a miserable time but you seem compelled to tell us all about it.

This leads me to ask, are your experiences typical and do all Thais really hate us or are you an aberration of negative expatted ness.

If, god forbid, you are a typical expat. And not kinda a Joe Btfsplk of Farangs. I guess you should be encouraged to post your experiences.

If he was teaching engineering, explaining that the size of an adjustable wrench doesn't matter as it will be used as a hammer anyway, grammar don't matter.

People who think that all foreign teachers fumble with teaching English here really should get out more, or get a decent job instead of criticizing others posts for content. Stick to marking up homework, IMHO

Gee no need to put any folk teaching English and earning an honest income down. Bit harsh and you should say sorry.
