Does anyone Italian have recently getting married with a Thai girl in Bangkok OR in Italy?

She has a good job for many years, owns aland and a house. And I have a good professional job in Italy. Our age difference is not much. She's been to many countries on work visit.

I'd like to know what kind of document Italian and Thai authority needs?

Which way is easier (marrying in Thailand vs Italy)?

How long does it take?

Any advice is most appreciated.

You can get married in Thailand or Italy.

If you do it in Thailand you will need to go to your embassy and swear a declaration that you are free to get married. The embassy will advise you on the format.

Get this translated and certified by the Thai Foreign office.

This link give you more details.

All this only takes a few days.

Then go to your wife's local amphur office with her id and Tabien Bahn,

your certifed declaration and passport. Within a few minutes you will be married. That is the legal part.

Your wife will probably also want a traditional ceremony.

Sorry I cannot advise you how to do it in Italy.

It depends on where you,and your (future)wife are now living, and where you will live later on.

If you are in Thailnd, marryng here is no problem, you can do all the paperwork by the Consulate, not cheap, but straigthforward, they have a lot of experience, are helpful too.

If you want to bring the woman to Italy and marry her there, then you have to provide a visa for her and be sure to translate all her documents before(in english should be enough, then you can make the translation from english to italian and certify it yourself).

I did marry some years ago,but believe it's not changed since that.

Congratulations! :o

Thank you all ! I really appreciate your help.

It seems to me that it is easier to get married in Thailand than abroad.

We will think about it....

Thanks again.
