Hello

I too am an expat UK OAP who previously used HIFX with no problems at all However I have recently changed to a similar company who offer the same service for no charge. They also seem to work Ok with slightly better rates than HIFX. Money is in my Bangkok Banks account approx 24 hours after being transferred by the company. BTW Bangkok bank charge only 200 baht for the incoming transfer.

If you care to PM me I will be pleased to introduce you as the company offer a M&S voucher for successful introductions. They also offer a monthly service similar to a standing order for the transfers so once set up with a standing order into them from your UK bank the system becomes completely automatic.

Best regards

Norfolkboy

I use Caxton Fx they do not charge you for transfers, but has to be £100 or more. The more you send the better rate you get i.e £100 - 52.53 baht, £10,000 - 53.15 baht, £50,000 - 53.65 baht. I have made many transactions to my Bangkok Bank account and Bangkok Bank have never made any charges. I do not know how much other Thai banks charge to receive foreign transfers, but I use Bangkok Bank because with Caxton Fx they are free.

What I mean is sending thai baht to my Bangkok Bank account in Thailand from my Barclays current account in England, through Caxton Fx has not cost me a penny. Bangkok Bank have not charged me anything for any of my transfers through Caxton Fx, and I have made over 50 transfers.

You can get your pension paid into you English current account then transfer it yourself through Caxton Fx to your Bangkok Bank account in Thailand for free as long as your minimum transfer is £100 or more. Give Caxton a call on 08456582223 or +442072010518 (from overseas).

p.s. you must also have a debit card linked to your english current account that your pension is paid into, because credit cards are not accepted only debit cards.
