BANGKOK: -- Caretaker Prime Minister Yinglulck Shinawatra repeated her strong determination to stay on to power to the last minute to uphold democracy.

She made clear of her stance to remain as caretaker prime minister on her Facebook page after this morning’s visit to Saraburi to view activities at the Otop Center Complex.

After her visit, she wrote on her Facebook page saying she had to stay in power just to uphold democracy.

As to call by many people for her to resign, she said she would like to ask them is resignation an answer.

She said her resignation would lead to power vacuum and the tearing up of the constitution which is also undemocratic and not possible.

As a citizen and the prime minister, she said she could not let this to happen but would stay on to uphold democracy until the new government is formed.

She said she would stay to the last minute and now it is timely for all sides to meet face to face to reach a settlement that is accepted by the majority of the people and within the boundary of the constitution.

As to the violence in Trat and Ratchaprasong, she said she strongly condemned the use of violence that has caused many deaths, particularly children have lost their lives.

She called the attacks terrorist attacks for political gains without any regard for human lives. The government will not tolerate terrorism and has ordered a full investigation by authorities to find the culprits and bring them to justice without exception.

She said she would like to ask all sides of the political divide that “we may see things differently and there are many ways to express those differences. But the use of violence that lead to deaths are not the civilized way of the living. It is not the way of life of Thais who are naturally considerate and empathetic to fellow citizens, rather than resort to senseless killings. I would like to again call on all sides that it is best to use peaceful means to resolve the political conflict through the democratic process.”

Another great statements from Yingluck.

I don't think she can see the entire picture.

Her forehead is smaller than other people and that really explains.

She have made a lot of wrong judgement as PM and she still keeps doing it.

I guess she wants to see more people get killed.

It is truly remarkable.

She is the rightful elected leader in the country, if you do not like her vote her out of office!

Oh sorry I forgot all of us Farangs do not have a right to vote in Thailand!

Cheers

that was then this is now. She is the caretaker PM she dissolved parliament. So she is no longer the rightful elected leader. Those elections are inconclusive, and may prove that she no longer has the peoples vote.

So Yingluck is posting *in english* on her facebook page addressing the protesters...?

First off, she should do it in Thai, not english... this is just a gimmick for the Foreign press.

Secondly she should do it face-to-face, not via her Facebook page...

Mind you, when she takes her instruction via Skype, its understandable why she might think Facebook is an acceptable communication media for Policy and Negotiations.

Hard to believe it is really her doing it. I mean aside from the fact she does absolutely nothing.

Really, they should search the IP, and determine if it is her- and second of all, the location- and hold protests wherever the IP turns up, until they find her and put some pressure on her to face demonstrators and speak out to them in person, to gain at least a little respect, which she has failed to do whatsoever in the course of 3 years.
