Flighting, my president: Yingluck's warm welcome goes wrong

Surely that is two errors! she is not president either, can't even call her Prime Minister she is so obviously a puppet!

Perhaps the "President" thing is a reference to her brother's alleged republican aspirations.

The implications of that in a country with a monarchy as head of state, well one wonders!

For many a year it's been suggested big brother fancies the title ' President ', for himself of course.

Of course, he wants to be the Sun Yat-sen of Thailand wink.png

Didn't Dr. SUN also have the title Generalissimo ?

Good God, Generalissimo and President for Life, Dr. Pol Lt. Col. Thaksin. !

I'm just wondering if anyone will be charged with lèse majesté...?

Using the P word is likely to prompt some to cry LM......

It would mark an interesting week for Yingluck.

Dereliction of duty

Malfeasance

Murder

The canvas sign, which aimed to show the Prime Minister support, contained one misspelling, making it the “Uneducate people” of 2014.

I can't figure out if this is meant as irony or not.

I'm sure these good ladies, all loyal Thais, had no idea that the title ' President ' implies a republic.

Why did they not just stick to Thai ? YL isn't exactly the best English speaker around, forget her degree from Kentucky State which may be ' iffy ' to say the least.

They have chosen a change of head of state. What to do.

You can get Kentucky State Degrees in the rice bubbles packets and qualify for membership of the the Tea Party.

Calling her president is not a mistake.

That is what they want, probably.

The redshirts in CM are fully in favour of that.

An obvious attempt to denigrate the Prime Minister.

"Yingluck's warm welcome goes wrong"...But a warm welcome it was indeed. No-one should make the mistake of underestimating her and the huge electoral respect she commands. PAD-Dem's are not trying to nullify elections for nothing.

Denigration like that only plays in PAD-Dem circles, and they make the mistake of believing it....But on the other hand, being very afraid of elections, including the current one. Ridiculing someone who kicks ass in elections is unbecoming....It has the aura of grasping at straws.

The UDD/RS also like to ridicule the PAD-Dem's for their blanket denigration of their political opposites as being 'uneducated'...The pro-electoral democrats wear it as a badge of honor....They can afford to do that is those who make such statements are on the political outside, looking in....They are the foolish ones, especially when they cannot grasp the difference between education and being 'politicized'.

No one should make the mistake of overestimating her intelligence either. Think of her as being absolutely stupid and you will be pleasantly surprised when she says something which is right......WHEN

Maybe..... but thankfully the majority of people in Chiang Mai are not.

President?

So they want to turn the Kingdom into a Republic...

Not so long ago they would have lost their heads for that.

Stop the discussion before the LM 112 police come knocking at your door.

It's as if Yingluck wrote the welcome banner herself. clap2.gif

That poster is far too advanced for Poo.

But flighting is an apt word, as she'll soon be flighting to Dubai.

A strong possibility that Ferwert has arisen

it is very very very difficult to make such mistakes other than deliberate

1) Most Thais are not so stupid to know Prime Minister and President are not the same

2) For fighting wrong spelling is by remove letters to be fiting or fihgting and most Thais really know this

If she were smart she would spot the mistakes and say something it

Me thinx that these women wanted to hide a message saying we are forbidden and shamed for exposing the devil directly so let us do it indirectly because we do not want our grandchildren to be hunted under this new regime of serial child killers

Yes, not the only 'KSU' degree within these borders.

Grow up people. Whats the big deal. Just Google translation errors. Clutching at straws trying to denigrate YL based on this trashy piece of reporting from high class rag Coconuts <deleted>.

Spelling aside, why do they insist on using a picture of the "young" Yingluck? Clearly she has lost some of her angelic shine from her election days!

There are lots of pictures of other people around town - pictures from decades ago. Its just the Thai way to make them look good, even if its not the current reality.

I actually checked on Google translate with a Thai chick typing to see and the translations were 100% OK and Google proved professional and so I still smell something. Coconuts has brought amazing scoops and insights and such media is indeed a refreshing change to the mainstream and I really think it is very good reporting as I found the coconuts story to be an eye-opener much more interesting than CNN and BBC
