TOYOTA Tyres

Featured Replies

Just had my 18 month old Vigo in for it's 50000 km service. They rotate the wheels, front to back, left to right etc. I asked why they do not rotate the spare as shown in the handbook. Reply - cos it's not an alloy wheel and wouldn't look right! On driving back home I noticed that the ride was much harder than I was used to , popped into a tyre place and, yes they had inflated the tyres up to 36 psi. The handbook says 29 all round, which gives a much better ride and will not wear the tyres out in the centre. WHY do Toyota do this? Also then I noticed a cut in the wall of one rear tyre, which Toyota had missed, so asked the tyre guy to put the spare on. Two guys changed the spare tyre onto the alloy rim so it would look right and put the dodgy one on the spare....total cost BHt 160. T I T.

Let's move this over to the car forum. OK?

Topic Moved.

Everyone should buy a tyre pressure gauge, couple of hundred baht in Tesco. Do not trust anyone to set correct pressures in LOS.

Your right, over inflated makes for a shit ride and iffy traction in the wet.

Monkey see monkey do, problem is if the first monkey is a lazy idiot, the same will be repeated.

Just like most things in Thailand, whatever is easiest , cheapest, less work, and totally inconsistent.
