It's All About Having The Right Programs..Isn't It?......

Hello expats, experts and armchair specialists,

Seems that I've found the right medication for my Dell 1440 Inspiron, running Windows 7, with only 2 GB RAM, the 32 bit version.

Okay, let's start with the right anti virus program, which is Kaspersky, always renewable after 91 days. Then my AVG 2011 Tune Up, which does a fantastic job and always did. Cleaning the registry, junk files, defragment and much more....

Then I've everything backed up, using Acronis Back Up and Restore. My Hard Drive sentinel works perfect and tells me when my machine has a headache.

So I never thought I could get this thing any faster. But I was wrong. Found a program, called Your Unin-staller, the pro version. Installed it, spoke to the registry, and good to go.

You've got nice tools coming with that program, the cleaning disc tool found thousands of old junk files, which freed up 10 GB of space on my disk!

You have the option to completely uninstall programs that nothing is being left on the machine. Very useful for so many programs you a) can't delete it uninstalls ALL files that came with that product.

You can run trails now forever, full functioning trial;s, as all of the program will be erased when using this program. The "Startup Manager" tells you what you need and what not. Then a "Trace Eraser", a "File Shredder" and a few more options.

My Dell is running like a race horse now and I look forward to no problems as all is backed up. Anybody got experience with it? It's that easy, isn't it?-coffee1.gif

Revo Uninstaller has been around for ages. It's free and does the same things as the "pro" program that you mention which I assume costs money. Incidentally, why don't you run Acronis True Image? You get cloud backup with it which gives you an additional layer of image and data loss prevention.

i read good things about Kaspersky and one bad thing.

What is the cost or is it free?

thanks

That's indeed a good question. Let's use theory. There's a Kasp. 91 days trial version available on the bay. Once you're using the " Your Unin-staller pro, which is also an endangered animal, but not extinct, you'd be able to erase ALL data on your machine that programs like that usually leave that you can't use a trial twice.

So in theory, you could use ALL programs as trials, delete the files and put them on again for free.

The free up so much space by deleting thousands of unnecessary files, plus other useful functions, makes it to an outstanding tool for all users.

I prefer Acronis back up and restore because I know it's working well. Just cleaned our machine at school with Your Unin-staller pro, which had some serious issues and it's like a race horse now, too.

I hate it when I've got problems when deleting a program and then have to download a program to delete this bs. Unin does it all, and keeps a back up, just in case you delete the wrong one.

Learning by doing helped me to find what I was looking for.
