Every day between 9pm and 10pm Thaivisa become unusable. Taking minutes to load a page amd getting cached pages all the time.

I click on new content and get the same page without any changes untill I click the renew button in my browser.

Click a thread and get the cached page from 10 minutes earlier, however there have been new posts made since, they don't show.

I edited one of my posts and when i went back to the thread I got the same page from 5 minutes earlier with my original post. When I clicked the refresh button in my browser I got the editted post together with the psots that had been made since.

I know it has nothing to do with my browser or internet provider, because it is very obvious from the new content page that there are almost no new entries during that time as well.

While normally there are maybe 10 new posts a minute at that time, when the problem occurs there is only 1 new post every so many minutes.

Could add, clicking post results in blank pages as well.

Let me add, it is also impossible to give likes, as you will get the hanging screen for a few minutes but the like will not register.

My content or view all notifications page is also not accessible.

The screen to post this has been hanging for 85 seconds after which i got a blank screen.

Agreed, its been this way for a few days at least now.

Server overload?

Who do these adverts just hang there or take forever to load, waiting for googleapis etc etc etc.

Why not put an automatic timeout, if they havent loaded in a reasonable period.

As noted above, this site is the only one I have problems with, so I know its not my internet provider, computer or software.

I use Firefox and have had the same problem. switched to Chrome a couple of times, but no improvement. Thought it was mt "antiquated" operating system, XP, that isn't supported by TV anymore!

If the computer or operating system wwere the fault, then it would happen 24/7 and all websites, instead of at least 3 consecutive days each day at the same period and on a single website only

It is now 21.10 and the same problem started 6 minutes ago. Always getting the same chached page, even after restarting my browser, opening or posting a post may take 1 or 2 minutes.

I didn't know that my pc was that intelligent that it would behave like this only on set times.

Last few days I have had rotating pages at times. Had to close FF and start again. I have genuine W7 and ooooooooooodles of protection.

PS. It just this minute done it again on another thread.....smile.png

It seems to be that the scripts take a long time to load sometimes when the net is a bit busy. That makes the pages much less useful, or even not appear at all. I am on a very slow connection and there are several other highly scripted websites that I have a similar experience with.

It's going great again tonight. Cached pages over and over, never ending loops and more.

I know it will definitely be at my side, but looking at the new content page, it seems that the majority of posters use the same computer and ISP as me.

googleapis... yep, whenever this happens and it is mostly late evening Thailand time, the forum hangs on googleapis and pages refuse to load. It's been like this for months, it's not our computers...

The speed at the moment is very bad, all other sites (even European ones) open faster then Thaivisa.

Also a lot of problems here. Windows 7 legal.. 3bb 16mb and 16gb ram in the computer So i doubt its related to someones computer.

Seems the standard answer of shifting blame that ISP's also always try.

Very slow for me... very up to date computerS and operating systems (Windows Pro 64 bit 8.1). Message that it is slow because of very long running script. No other sites are slow for me.

Most likely associated with the numerous links to "ads" but I must not say that !

I don't have to view ads, although I'm not allowed to post how, but I'm still getting all the other problems, mainly scripts greying out, no 'liking', bad formatting and intermittent excrutiatingly slow loading.

Try with another browser like Chrome or Firefox and let me know how it goes.

Nothing to do with browser, have tried every possible browser, all with the same result. This start to sound like the replies you get when you call the phone companies customer service.

It happens with Chrome. You can see waiting for googleapis in the status bar. Sometimes there are other Google related items waiting to load as well. Usually happens late night Thai time. Google analytics or adsense related?

And no reactions to other posts also except for change your browser or change DNS

I think these issues started a year or two ago, when the thaivisa hosting moved from Singapore EC2 to Google? Any chance to rollback the move? Digitalocean have now a datacenter in Singapore, which might be more cost effective compared to EC2.

Often, while posting a reply, the browser hangs there for minutes. Sometimes another click of 'Post' icon resolves the issue, sometimes there is double post.

The delay with posting has nothing to do with Google or EC2. It's a database related issue with Amazon RDS which we are resolving hopefully by next week.

Also Google's bandwidth from Singapore to Thailand will be upgraded shortly as the demand is higher, we are told.

Cheers

Thanks for the update!

The delay with the posting is related to the delay to load pages as well. When a posting is delayed, I try to load the specific sub forum on another tab to check if my post actually went through. Often both fail simultaneously.

These problematic times takes hours.

Could you give a bit insight how thaivisa is now composed. Relational database is hosted by Amazon and the php with the cpu power it needs as well as the image hosting is with google?

Which party is sending the notification emails as it has been the weak link, or simply unreliable, every now and then.

Thanks for the info that Google is widening the link between Thailand and Singapore! That should solve many issues itself. Does Google have a local cache here in Thailand?
