Tourists risk gunfire, grenades for a h*ll of a bargain to stay in 'Camp Lumpini'

Featured Replies

Theres no lack of intelligent educated backpackers. some are students in professional programs. perhaps the ones camping at lumpini perceive it as an adventure, i certainly would. just because some tv posters have yet to scale "everest" does not justify their chastising those that have or try to.

how would you know? do they look like intellegent people to you? look like bums to me!

I suppose this is the place that Thaksin fears so much. The picture looks serene. Maybe that's what Thaksin doesn't like about it. Lumpini Park has become home to those who believe in free expression, and their right to express it. It has come under frequent attack, but they remain, because they believe in their right to protest and what they stand for. They are not alone. The Constitutional Court believes in their right to protest. The Civil Court believes in their right to protest. The Criminal Court believes in their right to protest. Or - from Chalerm's point of view - no one.

Well I believe in the right to protest, and the PTP believes in the right to protest, also the reds believe in the right to protest, the problem is When the Protesters turn into a mob and cut water and power to buildings, invade buildings, order and threaten staff to get out, bash taxi drivers shoot people bash people and throw them into a river, threaten and assault people going about there business and prevent people from voting, encourage the detention of the PM and ministers, and saying make arrangements for your wives and kids, I haven't read that you denounce these threats to familys of MP's, but please, if I am mistaken my apologies, see now that is the part most fair minded people have a problem with, or do you support the things that your hero's do? now before you answer with AAAAhhhh but that's what the reds did, yu'p your right, and I did not support it then as I do not now, you don't like the government of the day, impeach them or vote them out simple reallywhistling.gif

also the reds believe in the right to protest

Only as long as they are the ones doing the protesting and the last 7 years is resplendent in events that support that.
