Caretaker Deputy Senate Speaker Nipon Wisityutthasart and caretaker Angthong senator Somkiat Sornlum Friday submitted their resignation from the chamber.

Nipon said the resignation took an immediate effect.

Maybe all the caretaker mp and senators are waiting for the volcano to erupt before they make their exit. :o:D Need to jump ship.

The two Senators in question have already served their 6 year term of office. They are not allowed to serve a second term.

Two interim senators reportedly resigned to contest the general election

Nipon Wisityuthasart (นิพนธ์ วิสิษฐยุทธศาสตร์) and Somkiat Soralum (สมเกียรติ ศรลัมพ์) resigned as interim senators yesterday reportedly to contest the general election.

Mr. Nipon, who represented Ang Thong, said he wanted to take care of his business. Reports said, however, that he would join the Democrat Party.

Mr. Somkiat, elected in Nakhon Sawan, reportedly would join the Chart Thai Party. The general election was tentatively set on October 15.
