Gandtee
Does anyone on TV have any experience on the does and don't of home brewing beer here in Thailand?
tonytigerbkk
Illegal in Thailand. The good news is that we are now running a book about how fast this thread is closed, I have 37 minutes.
cooked
Illegal yes, you pay a ฿600.- fine for brewing (I think this includes distilling) for your own consumption. The problem is that the ideal temperature for brewing in 23°C more or less, and that you should be able to store it cool for a month or two for best quality results (which is why Thai beer is a/expensive and b/not as good as it could be. You could rig up a thermostat to a freezer to brew, people have done that but I myself am slowly going off the idea altogether. Try the home brew forum Thailand for ingredients, and try to use rain water.

Gandtee
Thanks for the advice. I must confess I had my doubts about the possibility of home brewing for just that reason, temperature. Ten minutes to go. Who picked up the dosh?
Tywais
As mentioned, home brewing is illegal in Thailand unless you get a license and that is usually for only micro breweries. Will have to close this topic due to forum rules. Use the TV search function and you will find similar topics.
