Does anyone know if Lat Phrao is served by the BTS or what the easiest way of reaching it is if, say, coming from west of the river? :)

Subway runs along part of Latphao Road but that is not even Latphao District anymore so bus/taxi would likely have to be used to actual destination if in Latphao. The closest you can get on BTS would be the old Morchit bus station terminal outside weekend market.

Ok thanks. You wouldn't happen to know which bus serves Lat Phrao and where I'd get it from, say, from near Sanam Luang?

You keep saying Latphao but do not say where - it does make a difference. Are you asking about the immigration center in Big C/Imperial World perhaps? For that using subway to Latphao Station exit 3 and getting a taxi from there and return with taxi to Ratchadaphisek Station for return.

I'm not sure yet but it's not the immigration centre. I haven't got an address as yet. From the west side of the river, say, Pinklao how much would it cost approx to Lat Phrao obviously given that there are different areas of it?

Are you asking for bus/subway or other combinations or just a taxi? Sorry I really do not know as live in Latphao but expect taxi could range between 2-400 baht depending on route/traffic/time of day and who is marching where.

The confusion some of the posters are expressing is that there is Lat Prao Rd which runs from Soi 1 to more than Soi 120...then there is an actual Lat Prao district which is further out near Ram Intra area. Getting a taxi from Sanum Luang to take you to Lad Prao st close to or during rush hour will be extrememly hard. Unless you call ahead for the taxi line or use grab taxi, if you try to get a taxi off the street they think every foreigner has just come from the grand palace and they will ask for a very high rate non-meter because going to Lat Prao rd is one of the heaviest traffic areas.I occasionally work at Tha Prachan and I live on Lat Prao Rd. It can take me over 40 minutes to find a taxi just to get to hua lumpong. You can take a taxi to hua lumpung, take the mrt to chatuchuk(which is next to Mo Chit BTS). You can get a taxi from there if you want to go far out on Lat Prao. There are not many taxis available on Lat Prao rd from soi 1 to soi 19 from 5 PM -7pm that is why I am suggesting get one from Chatuchak. We are also getting into the rainy season which also makes it even more difficult to get a taxi during rush hour.

I have lived on 101 Lat Phrao for approx. 2 years. There's quite a few buses that run along the Lat Phrao road, info. as many have mentioned, it is one of the busiest road in BKK, during the day I have caught a taxi from 101 to Sukhumvitt road soi's 79 and also around 4, generally costing between 100-140 baht on the meter, also the same going back to 101 if you can get a cabbie that will take you. MRT, has it's own on Lat Phrao 21, 23 going west, or 24/26 going east buses available ranging between 8-16 baht approx depending on A/C or not.

I was not aware travel was planned during rush hour - which is often standing room only on Lat Phao Road. But during normal times I have never had more than a one minute wait (and normally taxi waiting) at exit 3 of Latphao station exit. As for taxis not using meter have not had that issue in years but seldom in the tourist areas - but even from Sukhumvit have never had to stop more than two taxi to get to Lat Phao on meter. Where you do have an issue is trying to get a stopped taxi to go anywhere on meter if they believe you are a tourist. But the majority of those moving as not a problem. But obviously nobody wants to be stuck in rush hour traffic - especially going out of town where they may believe customers for return may not be available. Latphao Road is indeed very busy most of the day again, now that the demonstrations in town are less and people driving there own one person carloads to/from work everyday. As said above once on Latphao Road the bus service is good but have no idea if it will take poster to where he wants to go as he does not have actual address.
