Windows Anytime Upgrade isn't an available option for Windows 7 Ultimate.

The heading of the OP's post states they can not “update” - but in the body of the post they mention “upgrade.”

Unclear if Windows Update is not working - or as another TV member mentioned - are they are looking to upgrade from Windows 7 Ultimate. Ultimate, as the name implies, is already the top software version for home use.

Most new PC's in Thailand are not offered with genuine Windows 7 Ultimate pre-installed. Pirated Windows 7 Ultimate is common on new computers that are marketed with only DOS. If the Windows OS is pirated - Windows Update settings may have been altered by the installer.

If the Windows software is genuine - yet there is a problem with Windows Update and no error code is given for reference – here is a Microsoft webpage that might offer assistance:

"Windows update cannot currently check for updates because the service is not running. You may need to restart your computer."
