Strictly For Show....................

Recommended Posts

In my ex girlfriends village a favourite pastime was moving the boundary pegs on property to steal a few inches of land from your neighbour. That is how petty life in the village is. My girl put a fence down each side of the property (partial length) just to make an immovable marker of where the boundary is. I suspect the same is going on in your village...

Yes, this what I thought at first but most won't build if they have a neighbour at the side as they insist the neighbour pays for half the wall on that side. Surely putting concrete posts would be a cheaper alternative than building a proper plastered wall if just to mark a boundary.

Anyway this just an example of 'for show'. Do we have any other strange incidents of 'strictly for show' in their neighbourhood???

The problem with the concrete posts...the neighbour digs them out at night and moves them. next door to me have taken 2 mtrs on an angle through the wifes land.

There is no way she will ever get it back now, as a government official arrived, surveyed the land and moved his records to show the land belonged to next door.

Wonder how much next door slipped in his pocket to do?????.

If someone moves your post you have a legal right to something about it . You can get the goverment land office to come and measure your land according to your title .

Not quite concrete walls. , but I love the way my Thai gf wants to big note with her friends. Two examples. First when I buy her something she posts it on Facebook to her girlfriends. She basically doubles the price I told her I paid for it.

Second , I go to HCM every month. Anyway I give her money when I leave. My formulae is 1000 baht a day. She telss her gfs that I give her "big money" when I leave.

All this is to make it appear she is being taken very good care off and is LUCKY.

I love their sweet little hearts. Its all about face as the farang say.

By the way I could give many more examples.

Your GF sounds like a true... gem.

I was amused when I went to a friend's large restaurant. She had an expensive white mercedes benz parked inside of glass garage on the restaurant property. Situated so you had to walk past it on the way to be seated.

Never saw a car under glass before.

Take a look around Bangkok...next time you pass a big high fenced expensive looking property with 3m high walls, cameras, spikey things all around the perimeter... then look at the gate....huge monolith....but....see through...and usually see through directly to the car port where you can see all the expensive cars in there.

I seen this many times...one particular stands out....huge private fence all around...then the gate....direct view to the porsche, merc and bmw's in the carport only.

As we say in Oz...all shIt no substance.

House in Brighton in the UK has a Mercedes, Ferrari and a McLaren on the drive, but no garage or fence for that matter. Only a normal size house but must be worth at least a million there.

Edit: has a small garage , but cars on drive.

Going back to the OP title, Strictly for Show, I know a few (several actually) foreigners who strut around (or follow) their long haired Thai dictionaries.

The state some of them are in, I would say 'strictly for show' covers it as I couldn't imagine what else they would be wanted for................tongue.png

Actually, I do understand what the OP is writing about.

The façade of Thai showmanship when it comes to BIG Face.

The bigger and showier the gate, the bigger the Thai smile.

As many posters have already pointed out ... 'tis but a veneer,

a flamingo without substance.

We've just had TWIN boys ... cuties actually (but every Dad would say that).

My partners Father is just itching till they can walk, and he can stroll into TESCO with a white boy in each hand

... and believe me ... they are very white ... BIG FACE for him ... almost better then a new car in the driveway ... laugh.png

.

You realize there are many posters here who have a vested interest in stating, ad nauseam, that no decent thai girl wil be seen w a falang,

you are disputing that entirely, as do many others here,

its refreshing

my gf just proved AGAIN last night that she over states the situation.

LaI had some friends come stay for few days. We were talking about horses on hua hin beaches. gf states "i happy my bf has big cock.

this is not completely accurate. I did not dispute. not want her to lose face
