Alcohol sales during songkran

Featured Replies

I heard a rumour (!) that there is a ban on alcohol sales in several cities in Thailand during Songkran, Pattaya being one of them.

Anyone out there heard something similar? More precise information available?

Thanks!

Hua Hin have said they will ban alcohol. That will work!! Not. As for Pattaya, I don't think so. The revenue generated is so high. And since you have a massive influx of Bangkokians coming for the final weekend they will, no doubt, bring alcohol. Fear not the bars will be selling, the shops will be selling and street vendors will be selling.

Take no chances and stock up. I have! Only 4 days left!

Ban alcohol during Songkran, yeah do that and the masses will show the red shirts what a riot really is! The army will not be able to handle that one!!

AFAIK the only "organized" ban will be along the "Route du Soleil" at gas-stations and other venues.

Hard to imagine that cities are going to ban alcohol during Songkran.......but hey.......TiT
