Mr. Worawuth, who operates a local Redshirt radio station, added that if there is a military coup or any attempt to remove Ms. Yingluck, his supporters will immediately surround the Chiang Mai City Hall in protest.

And who cares??? they only ones who will be affected are your own brainwashed red skirt people, you fools

Are they going scream and stamp their feet too?

Suthep gets a dose of his own medicine.

Red shirts pressed charges is not a charge, no-body but the police can charge anyone, the news print is misleading, how gullible you are.

If only. Article 112 is in the chapter of the Criminal Code that deals with national security. Any person can bring charges under any of the laws in that chapter; it does not have to be the police or public prosecutor. Either body can decide, on viewing the prima facie evidence, not to proceed with the charges, but often seem afraid of being charged with dereliction of duty and normally press on whatever the facts of the case. So Acharn Somsak of Thammasat is having to answer charges by Gen Prayuth over comments about HRH Princess Chulabhorn when 112 clearly protects only the King, Queen, Heir-Apparent and Regent.

A national level police committee was set up to review 112 cases to weed out the malicious charges, but it seems not to be functioning (largely because cases are not being referred to it).

The fact that anyone can bring charges under 112 is a major reason why many argue that the law is being abused, leading to miscarriages of justice (even if charges are later dropped or the accused found not guilty by the courts, they will have suffered reputational damage and often spent months in prison on remand). One of the amendments proposed by the Nithirat group was to limit the authority to bring charges to a govt agency dealing with palace affairs. But both the Yingluck govt and the Abhisit govt before them have been very clear and resolute in refusing any amendment of 112 whatsoever.

And they have presented a copy of Khaosod newspaper as a forensic evidence, because that is the only proof that they have. laugh.png

It is only proof if it can be confirmed as real, and seeing that only Khaosod, PTP, CAPO and UDD think it is real... Then in fact it is not proof, it is in fact 'fake evidence' and that should be considered a crime to attempt to file charges based on knowingly fake evidence.

Where I come from that is classed as attempting to pervert the course of justice. Or conspiracy to commit perjury..... Both seriously prison-able offenses.

Clearly you come from the United States, which has a dubious system of law and order to say the least.

Tell me about it they find a guy guilty of murder sentence him to say 25 (would have been 50 but they give him half off for confessing) years then wont even give the guy parole. Dubious indeed.

Scampers posts ..... When the chief source of a prosecution case is an article from Khaosod, and when Khaosod becomes the only source to follow up on such a story - when everything is funneled through the prism of Khaosod - then naturally - it makes perfect sense to the UDD and red shirt radio. They still of course have yet to convince Khaosod to print every coup rumour, but they're working on that. In the meantime,.....

In the meantime Scamper that is exactly the same as reading The Nation, which is the Dems, yellows, PAD, PDRC's media outlet and the one sadly that thaivisa gets the majority of its news from ... just another biased untruthful oine sided presentation of news in Thailand -

To be fair they have a point ....

PDRC chief Suthep Thaugsuban has vowed to establish his "sovereign power" and appoint his own PM and cabinet

Only one soverign here Suthep and it aint you old boy.

Thailand belongs to the Thai people and the Thai people have the democratic right to decide which political party they want to run the country and elect them accordingly.

Suthep's view is that PM "YL" and the PTP party are not acceptable, but instead of creating street protests he should inform the Thai public across the entire country and outline his own political party plans to control Thailand politically in a better way, if this is taking place, and makes sense to the public then the Thai people might elect them.

Therefore, Suthep and the PDRC should accept a general election and take part in it in order to be successfully elected.

What a nice family photo.

And the policeman taking a picture to remember the gathering, as nobody will hear about that BS again.

Nothing better to do in Chaing Mai?

Why is it "BS" It's not! and that's why Suthep had to do some very hard back peddling and try to change his meaning of installing himself as sovereign body, that is a very big foot in his mouth, that's a fact just you don't like it huh...

Hey, aussieinthailand, the following may mean something to you.

See the posts by northern john and torrens54 show exactly why the norther thai despise the people of the south.

You guys are no better than anyone else and I'd bet those people in those photos would have more dignity and more heart in their little fingers than you gave in your entire bodies.

Shame on you both.

Now go back to your wives for further instructions on what to write.

Nope. As per the anti government groups this is an important issue.

Aren't you pleased that the UDD is inspired by the great leadership of the antigovernment forces? Isn't this what you wanted?

Who on earth said that Thailand belongs to the Thai people. If ever there was the simplest bit of propaganda this is.it.

Soon the people won't be able to vote. How many coups? It might be owned by Thais, but it certainly isn't owned by all Thais equally.

You might want to try reading the Bangkok post. It leaves room for improvement but most assuredly reports reality a lot more than the Nation and Khaosod.

Maybe that is why they are not allowed on Thai Visa. Not enough room for nonsense hence less posters hence less advertisers. Thai Visa is no different of any operation of the media bottom line money. More readers more money. I personally know of one advertiser who has pulled his ad because iof the garbage posts that go up here. He told me to my face they were not the type of customers he was after.
