Just looking for some help from other posters that have been here before.

Our new baby has just arrived and I need some help in a few areas .

Firstly, how long do we have to register the birth at the Thai embassy in London?

Secondly, I have read he will get a Thai e-passport upon registration there as we would like to travel to Thaland in June with him to visit family.

Third, how old does he have to be to travel, I realise all airlines are different but considering the airlines that connect Thailand what are your experiences of this?

Kind regards

There is no time limit to register the birth. Info on birth registration and passport here: http://www.thaiembassyuk.org.uk/?q=node/191

You should hurry up and get it done because it can take up to 2 months to get the passport.

As far I know there is no minimum age for an infant to travel on airlines.

Edit: Assuming you are from the UK you will also need to get your baby a UK passport. That can take up to 6 weeks to get.

I would get a UK Passport in the first instance, that would be quicker in the UK, he could travel to Thailand on that, just in case there are delays getting a Thai passport in London.

True about the Thai passport. But it is imperative the birth registration be done in London.

Getting a foreign birth registration done here is difficult and takes a long time.

Thank you for the replies guys. Is there any truth in a rumour I heard about a thai e-passport being issued upon registration in London.

They will do the application for a passport with the registration but the passport has to come from Bangkok.

OK, thanks, didn't realise that. Appreciate the info. We've been down there for wife's passport renewal but all this is new to us.

Kind regards
