And the Thais stole the down bars from the US dollar...i bet they have no idea what they symobolize or even their meaning

And I believe the US stole the down bars from the Spanish, the dollar symbol was in use before the US even existed as a country

Get it right.....we don't steal anything.....if we want.. we freaking Take it

...apart from 240 pennies to the pound!

Bring back the florin, half crown, ten bob note, farthing etc.the world was an easier place then.

I wonder how much they weighed ?? cause they used to weigh pennies, was it 1 pound or 2 pound to the pound.??

I'd think that, given the nonphysical and non-nationalistic nature of the bitcoin is to cross domestic and international borders without regulatory constraint and accountability, its developers could be more creative for its symbol than borrowing from known currency symbols. Giving it the baht monetary symbol doesn't steel Thailand's identity, it detracts from the bitcoin identity.

What could possibly be easier to remember than 100 pennies = 8s/4d ? Pure genius...

There is an effort from the establishment to undermine the Bitcoin. Perhaps the establishment feels threatened after all. The latest effort I saw is an attempt to prove that Bitcoin is promoting online child pornography and therefore should be regulated.
