About to give notice in UK for marriage next week. My thai divorce cert not translated in LOS

Me and my partner (Indonesian and British) have an appointment to give notice for marriage with the registry office at the end of next week.

I was divorced from a thai 5 years ago and have the divorce certificate

When I married this this we did not register it with the British embassy. Although she did get a spouse 2 year leave to remain visa on the basis of our marriage, but it was never formally 'lodged' so to speak, as far as I can remember.

After our divorce 5 years ago in the ampur in BKK, I received the divorce certificate but again did not bother to get it translated and 'lodge' with the embassy.

Siam legal website says this:

''The amphur issues a divorce certificate in Thai once the divorce is granted. Foreigners may need to have the decree translated to English and legalized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand so that the divorce may be reported and the decree be registered with their Embassy or consulate in Bangkok.'

As I did not 'report' the marriage in the first place, is not 'reporting' the divorce certificate going to cause me a problem or not, when putting in our notice at the registry office in London for me and my new fiancé ? How will they check

I am getting the divorce certificate translates as we speak from thai-style translation services in te UK who specialise in Thai certificates. Will this be enough for the registry office as a decree of absolute ? Or will they check with the embassy somehow to see if my divorce was lodged (even though technically the marriage was never lodged either!)

Panic!! We register on the 6th of may. Our wedding is booked in london on the 23rd of may. We fly to Indonesia for our honeymoon on the 26th of may

Worst case scenario I can fly to BKK on the next available flight and do whatever I need to do to make this happen.

Mod, please delete the thread - i got the answer from the head office of registra's in the UK.

The original divorce certificate (in thai) and its translation is sufficient in order to register; they confirmed they do not ever make enquiries with any british or foreign embassies or consulates here or abroad to confirm, and the translation does not need to be stamped by the ministry of foreign affairs, a reputable translation company in the UK is sufficient. sorted, panic over
