I was told by family, that the family has to go to Mae Rim hospital, for treatment using the 30 baht card (this includes all of ampor Maung). (we reside in tambon Paded,10 kilo south of the moat) and this seems like a awfully long way to travel. Before we used the hospital near Tesco on the Hang Dong road.

All of Amphur Muang goes to Nakorn Ping hospital, near Mae Rim for the Thai gov't 30 baht program. Those who reside in Amphur Hang Dong go to the Hang Dong hospital on Hang Dong Rd. near the Tesco Lotus. Your Thai family should be able to talk to the neighbors to learn where to go -- the hospitals are assigned on a geographic basis. Note: the 30-baht Universal Health Coverage program is no longer open to foreigners although some foreigners may be covered under other Thai government program -- for example if a spouse is a government employee.

Some confusion here.The hospital,200 metres from Tesco, on Hang Dong Rd is called Klaimor Hospital and is undergoing extensive renovation .Hang Dong Hospital is also on Hang Dong Rd but past the turn off to Ban Tawai so they are miles apart. My wife and I live in Banwangtan,Hang Dong, 10 minutes from Klaimor and that is her designated hospital for treatment.
