Clinton was and still is a dirty bag sorry ass liar.

And aside from his personal indiscretions, still one of the most successful US presidents in history as far as the economy goes.

The reaction to the Lewinski affair was purely political, an excuse for the opposition party to further their own selfish interests. Sex between two consenting adults, even if one is married has no bearing on their job. The senate investigation was a big waste of time and money and probably many things which effected the country more than that were probably pushed through during this smokescreen.

Nobody cared when JFK slept with Marilynn Monroe and other actresses. Clinton gets a BJ and the government is derailed for months.

The only aspect of it that disappointed me is that he didn't have better taste. He could have done better.

She opened up before as well but I think that wasn't her mouth that time and it involved cigars

Politicians are people too.

What is wrong with Americans?

Why Presidents of other countries can have sex related "ooopses" but Americans can not?

I am being serious here. President of any country must look after its interests the best way possible.

But do they have to take an oath of celibacy? Why can't a President get a blow job?

Or get divorced and marry a younger woman? Or marry a prostitute? Was Monica sucking for KGB?

Or the Americans are more hypocritical than other nations? <deleted> is the big deal?

This is a genuine question. This time I am not into bashing Americans - it's a lovely morning. coffee1.gif

The U.S. due to their puritanical and religious roots are a lot more prude/bigotted about this kind of thing, especially in the center of the country and the 'Guns & Bibles belt', as I would call it, where Fox News is watched in a lot of the homes.

As you correctly pointed out, it is human to have sex and accordingly many TV preachers and politicians have been felled by being caught 'in flagranti' (doing the very same thing they have spoken about and called an abomination) - and it will continue because sex is just too powerful of an urge, regardless of what foolish talk may come out of people's mouths.

I love the U.S. but boy are things often extreme: Porn industry in LA - Bible belt down South; the latest health & fitness trends - the most overweight people on the planet; most advanced medical studies and hospitals - a country without health insurance (Ok, that is changing now finally); wanting to do good - lying about WMDs (I'm still waiting...) and getting into a war that was clearly not well planned and cost tens of thousands of lives for nothing (alternatively the foolish idea of bringing democracy to a region that has only known warring tribal lords for thousands of years), ... etc.

Several things from the preceeding posts should be addressed.

1. Monica was a Republican plant. cheesy.gif

2. Clinton was NOT impeached for having an affair in the Oval Office. He was impeached for lying under oath to a federal official about it.

3. Do any of you progressive liberals honestly believe a 'rag' like Vanity Fair would publish anything like this article without the full blessing of the Clinton political machine? The Hillary handlers are just trying to jump the gun on some of her scandals before she announces a run for the Presidency. Believe me, she and Bill knew exactly what was being said in this article long before any of us did.

4. Granted Clinton was a very successful President fiscally speaking. It should be pointed out he had the good fortune of having both a Republican Senate and a Republican House during much of his tenure. Even Obama might have gone down as not being the worst ever if he had been so similarly blessed.

5. If this story had not been approved by the Clinton machine, why is there no YouTube of Hillary pounding a desk and shouting...

"What difference at this point does it make?"

For all of you that have already annointed Hillary, let me remind you there are quite a few good tidbits she will have to answer in her campaign. Unlike the current President, she has a history that is public knowledge.

Just a minor point of correction, The US is no longer the most obese nation:

Bad news, patriots: According to a new UN study, America is no longer the most obese country among more populous nations. That honor, which, according to another study, Americans held as recently as March, now belongs to Mexico.

http://gawker.com/america-is-no-longer-the-most-obese-country-in-the-worl-714151306

I think it was Conan O'Brien that said that American's shouldn't worry, as soon as the economy improves and the Mexicans head back, the US will be back as number 1.

....Now, back to the topic.

And a twice elected POTUS for whom the American people would be proud to re-election for a third term if they could. I am sure POTUS Clinton is not bothered by your slander, much less aware of your existence than you are of his.

Lewinsky was a Republican plant. They knew he wouldn't be able to resist her if she came on to him which she certainly did. He screwed everything he could get his hands on while a governor and this was well known at the time. He even had a woman on his staff whose only job was "bimbo control." Lewinsky did her job well and was probably well compensated for it.

The Republicans have the money but they are not that intelligent. cheesy.gif

It was blatantly lying about it that got him, not the sex. Of course, I don't really blame him. It was really no one else's business.

She was a bush pig back during the scandal. Hate to think what she looks like now at 40.

Saw a recent pic on the telly...she looked quite lovely actually...did not look 40ish...

And yet, in spite of your opinion his Presidency will be rated higher than several other U.S. Presidents.

Indeed, he started no war at that time... Is that the success of his economical plan ?

If you don't count troops to Kosovo and Haiti without Congressional approval, I suppose he did not start a war.

The success of his economical plan was that he followed the policies of the Republican House, run by Newt Gingrich.

You might want to refresh your memory about his war history.

The part that annoyed me is that he got in trouble for not being completely truthful about something that should have been none of anyone's business except Lewinski, Clinton and his wife.

Whether he lied is debatable. He said he didn't have sexual relations with her ( meaning intercourse). If someone asked if she blew him and if he stuck a cigar in her hoohaa and he said "no", then he'd be lying.

Yeah, well as Bill famously said..."It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is', is."

Kosovo was under NATO, or an international coalition of KFOR.

Haiti was just an operation to escort Cedras out of his country. The US wanted to stop the massive refugees coming into the US and bring back Aristide.

Both didn't have any impact on his economical plan, read success...

Oh yes, you can call these wars if you want too...

There is nothing here about "opening up" it's all about money, now that she not relevant

any longer and little money in the bank to pay the bills, she remembers to "open up"

If she would have "closed up" those legs of her back than, there will not be a reason to

open up now...

Maybe she's even had to 'hawk' her pearl necklace

Hahaha you crack me up Chuck.

I'm sure Newt and the Republicans were all for raising the tax rate for the top earners, eh?

Come on man, give credit where credit is due, since when did Republicans give a stuff about the economy as long as they can trouser as much cash as they can?
