FritsSikkink Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 For arguments sake, let's say a trip to Pattaya(or back) is possible in a day in roughly 10-12 hours (600km averaging 40-60 km/h) 1000000 / 600 is 1666, 1 way 10 hour drives. 7 years counts 2555 days 2555-1666 = 889 days of not driving! Very plausible! I'm with Nathan on this. So for 7 years you drive: day 1 phuket - pattaya day 2 stay in pattaya day 3 pattaya - phuket day 4 phuket - pattaya day 5 stay in pattaya day 6 pattaya - phuket day 7 start at day 1 again. Unless you are working and need the car this is insane. 1
nedkellylives Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 The OP probably operates some type of transport service either heavy vehicle or goods delivery for a business and is a Thai national/citizen In my opinion that's the only way you could travel 1M KLM in 8 years in Thailand 1
LivinginKata Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 My wife's SUV has just turned 7 years last month. 60,000 km on the clock. That's very low but 1 million is way too high.
Dancealot Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 day 3 pattaya - phuket day 4 phuket - pattaya day 5 stay in pattaya day 6 pattaya - phuket day 7 start at day 1 again. Unless you are working and need the car this is insane. Agreed, but life can be pretty sweet if you succesfully lead a double life and are a professional internet gambler and driving addict. But then again, I am digressing and speculating too much as well...

tomyumchai Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Havent looked at the exact purchase date of the car yet , but hey ok say its closer to 8 than 7 . Thats an average of around 300km a day . And yes I do do that at least on an average day plus all the multiple trips to banger patters etc. The reason I posted was because i couldnt beleive it myself but unless all the dials are out if sync it is correct. Not sure why people would think id post a bs post about it ??? Glasswort , if you dont give a crap then why post ? Go read another post. I do find it funny that posters think id be inclined to post this if it wasnt the case. Sent from my GT-N7100 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app are you a vip bus driver that has mastered the art of typing English while driving 18 hours a day?.....
Loles Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 My car (Altis CNG) is 26 months old and over 110 000 Km BUT only in BKK. The farest trip is Hua Hin (200 Km) of course in work case. Don't ask me: are you taxi driver? they go much more, and the cab is used 24 Hrs. Before the BKK traffic made me crazy but I already know well when I don't be where. (<-- I guess it's false please correct it )

hansgruber Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 @Dancealot Without answering with a die hard reference, do you agree that detail is dubious? Original post says multiple cars and later its one car. Its not a typo nor misinterpreted. Its a discrepancy .

stevehaigh Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 (edited) Only on Tv would a thread like this go this way. I posted the op as I was surprised myself and I did ask the question if anyone else had the mispleasure of having ti drive so much. No replies to my question only speculation as to wether im full of bs or not. Oh well to the beleivers ty to the rest oh well beleive what you may. Oh posted from yet another day on the car . :-) Sent from my GT-N7100 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app as you well know, this is thaivisa. if i started a thread saying 'kittens are cute' i'd be nailed to a cross by dog lovers or more likely, people with nothing else to do by the way in answer to your question, i pretty much hate driving here, but after a few months on the island, i get itchy feet and feel the need to get in the car and go somewhere anyhow Edited May 9, 2014 by stevehaigh
N47HAN Posted May 9, 2014 Author Posted May 9, 2014 I actually stated since buying my first car here , over the years i also had a pick up also and now have 2 cars. Hope that clears the discrepency . anyone figure the km from yday ? Sent from my GT-N7100 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
natway09 Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 In my 23 years driving here about 1.1m kilometres now. Drive BKK/ Phuket often. About 850k to Patong One prang, I backed into a parked car, stupid
nedkellylives Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 The OP is either a Thai national/citizen working legally or a expat working illegally Why brag about it on a forum, being anonymous on a forum does not hide your identity if soneone really wants to find out who you are
KarenBravo Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 The OP is either a Thai national/citizen working legally or a expat working illegally How did you come to that conclusion? Reading tea-leaves? 1
Popular Post KarenBravo Posted May 10, 2014 Popular Post Posted May 10, 2014 (edited) I believe N47HAN (or Nathan as I call him in my head) has a company selling PVC doors and windows. Either that, or a professional poker player. Edited May 10, 2014 by KarenBravo 3
LivinginKata Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 ^ Yes, I think he has a well know PVC door and window compnay here in Phuket.

Correct me if i am wrong as i am sure you will selling or salespersons is a occupation reserved for Thais
nedkellylives Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 How do you know he's a salesman? Simple to work out for some people Has a window are door supply business Quoting and taking orders are selling where i come from Checking employees work is not if you have a work permit Must have lots of work on at present travelling all over the island with no set run to check the work Good on him if you can get away with it Farangs have been deported for selling tours and trips when a Thai complains
Guest Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 What an thread! Since when selling is reserved for Thais? I used to work for an MNC which had reasonable large sales team here in Thailand. Many of those people who were on technical sales were definitely not Thais. Or is it just a matter of defining the work title a bit differently.
stevenl Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 The OP is either a Thai national/citizen working legally or a expat working illegally How did you come to that conclusion? Reading tea-leaves? Correct me if i am wrong as i am sure you will selling or salespersons is a occupation reserved for Thais Selling in itself is not illegal, the money changing hands thing is. And there is nothing wrong with the owner of a company visiting his clients/prospective buyers. If they were to pay him cash on the spot that would be illegal though. But why would you care, or try to make this into a negative towards toe OP?
N47HAN Posted May 10, 2014 Author Posted May 10, 2014 Oh dear , LIK if this thread has turned into the legality of myself owning a buisiness here could you close . Its run its course anyhow Thx Sent from my GT-N7100 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

I am not negative towards the OP just having a opinion and wish him the best of luck with his business I find it amusing the people who whinge about paying tea money (not the OP) who could not run or operate their business without paying it Most people who have businesses here do this, as you now
