BANGKOK: -- The United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship has threatened to file sedition charges against the presidents of the Supreme Court, Supreme Administrative Court, Constitutional Court and the Election Commission if they meet to discuss the nomination of an interim prime minister.

UDD chairman Jatuporn Promphan on Sunday urged red-shirt followers to be on the full alert to prepare for any untoward situation in case there is an attempt to nominate an interim prime minister.

Jatuporn said acting caretaker prime minister Niwatthamrong Bunsongphaisan had petitioned the Council of State challenging the legitimacy of the of election of Mr Surachai Liangboonlertchai as the Senate speaker last week.

The UDD, he added, would also lodge a complaint with Crime Suppression Division police to take action against Mr Surachai for colluding with 96 senators to stage the election of the Senate speaker last week.

It is going to take centuries for all these lawsuits and charges flying around to be heard when all this is over. Both sides are being crushed beneath a pile of suits and counter suits.

Crushed literally under dump trucks full of worthless paperwork! Better invest in more Eucalyptus farms this year. :cheesy:

I can understand their feeling if the elect an interim PM

but the above statement say they will file sedition charge is they also meet and say NO.

because it says if they meet to discuss

Guess the old saying

Say what you mean, not mean what you say should be applied

This is the perfect time to be a lawyer. If only my wife had foreseen this and gone to law school our future would be secure as accomplished millionaires. Heheee!

Thexxxxxxxxxxxxx is on bail with sedition charges, and he is threatening the court presidents with sedition charges. Funny circus! tongue.png

Yes, the irony is just wonderful ... but one wonders, if they are going after virtually every court in the land, exactly which court are they going to file these charges with...?

That's their way-they also threatened not to accept a ruling made by the CC regarding Yinhluck...so if the court had found her to be innocent, would they oppose the rulong??

We could offer up the highly qualified "Court of Thai Visa" to hear the case. The Toad will be comfortable here as facts and relevance are not needed to draw a conclusion.

Sounds like my annual visa applications at CM Immigration. How they ever make it Bangkok I'll never know.

The senate held an election to elect a speaker and because the one who won the democratic vote doesn't suit Jutaporn he calls the election a collusion.

That must be a new take on red democracy.

If our candidate doesn't win then it is collusion.

Presumably if the UDD favored candidate wins then it is a free and fair election.

How can they lose an election under those terms.

The senate held an election to elect a speaker

Illegally. The Royal Decree convening the special Senate Session didn't mention the selection of Senate Speaker/President on the agenda. It's mandate was to endorse the new member of the NACC and the appointment of Administration court specialists, and that's it. They didn't need to elect a speaker, Surachai was deputy Speaker and chaired the meeting as such - he was the one who allowed the eletion to go ahead even though it wasn't on the Royally decreed agenda. If they needed a Speaker (not a deputy Speaker) to hold the meeting, the meeting could not have been held. Sorry to disabuse you, you complain about the PTP not following rules? It doesn't get much higher than a Royal Decree.
