I am just testing the water at the moment regarding buying a couple of tickets from LGW to BKK.

Although I have flown route many times, this is the first time I want to by tickets for a 6 month stay.

In the past I have always managed to get something in the 400 pound range, but I detect something has changed, is this because I want a 6 month ticket or because I am enquiring so far in advance, I want to depart Oct 06 & return April 07. or have prices firmed up?

I know I should wait until nearer departure date but was just trying to get a feel for prices, any ideas?

Booking to far in advance in my opinion. October is low season and the length of ticket shouldn't really affect the price. I'm sur if you leave it a couple of months you'll have no problem picking up something for £400. I usually leave mine until the month before and pay around the same for a direct flight from LHR to BKK

October...My next jolli charabang trip also......so would also suggest hold on a bit.

Hopefully by the end of say July all the airlines will have realised that 20 million UK (should only be Angrit) punters will have spent all of their money on taking time off to watch the world cup and boozing themselves to kingdom come ..which should result in ..."forget Thailand ..this year."

.."lets just go to Majorki for a fortnight"..

According to TAT (tourist Auth of Thailand)visitors are already down by about 30% already so a bit of common sense should dictate ...DROP EM :D ....lets see.

Did a quick shufti on your dates ......roughly £470 with the dregs :o

Between jobs usually over there for a month plus, holidays are 2 weeks plus. The only time I pay more for the flights are around Christmas when the rate nearly doubles :D Thai usually have a couple of month restriction on their £400 tickets, if you're prepared to fly from LHR

Ps. Nice metaphor btw - Hijack - kind of like that
