5-14-2014-10-27-28-PM-wpcf_728x413.jpg

BANGKOK: -- A huge fire broke out at a warehouse building which was used to store paint thinner of Saha Union Group at Bang Chan Industrial Estate in Minburi area on Wednesday afternoon.

Fire was fire spotted coming out of the third floor of the fourth-story warehouse building inside the industrial estate on Serithai 62 road.

About 1,000 workers working at the warehouse and adjacent buildings were immediately evacuated when fire alarm was sounded at 4.00 p.m. today and fire engines were rushed to fight the blaze.

The warehouse building stored paints, alcohol and thinner and quickly raced to the fourth and first floors.

Fire fighters said that since the warehouse kept so many paint thinner and alcohol which are inflammable, they have to contact Osotspa Co and PTT Plc for the support of chemical foams to control the fire from spreading inside while on the outside water was used to contain the fire.

They said although the fire could be contained outside, but the fire was still raging inside due to the inflammable thinner and alcohol.

It was until 7.00 p.m. when the fire was contained.

Minburi district officials said that the building was badly burnt and might be torn down if engineers proved that it was unsafe for use.
