As you will see from my previous posts, I am always changing my ideas about how me and my girly can be together, we have now decided that a visit to the amphur and an application for a spouse visa is the best, most viable option for us. I'm flying out in September for three weeks, will that be enough time to get the marriage done plus a spouse visa application for her to come here?

I will elaborate on your situation if need be

Wrong section, try VISA section, the marriage at amphur if docs are present is a 15 minute thing. The visa for her to go anywhere depends where she is going and whats required by them.

It would help to know which country you are trying to get the visa for.

It appears to be for another country than Thailand.

Getting married here is not just a matter going to the Amphoe to get married. You will need a translated and certified affirmation of permit to marry from embassy.

She will be travelling to uk on spouse visa, if successful. I know about affirmation to marry forms, translations for marriage and all evidence required for her application. I need to know if I can fit all of this in, in a 3 week time period?

For getting married it will just take 4 or 5 days to get everything done or perhaps even less and that include getting marriage registered.

You need to look on the other visa forum for info on the spouse visa but I think it can take several months to get.

Moved to the visas to other countries forum.

You have previously asked about visit visas, last time being in April, and have now decided to marry her and apply for settlement for her.

Up to you both, of course, but do not marry her simply because you think a settlement visa will be easier to get than a visit visa.

Remember the old adage; marry in haste, repent at leisure!

You have previously mentioned that she has a son. What's happening about him? As he is over 18 he cannot apply for settlement as her child; unless he is in some way totally dependant upon her, e.g. unable to work and care for himself due to disability.

Both she and you will need to meet the settlement requirements, including the financial one. For more on this, see UK settlement visa basics.

Visa processing times depend upon demand; apply at a quiet time and you will receive the result fairly quickly; apply at a busy one and it will take longer. UKVI advice is to allow at least 3 months for a settlement application to be processed.

For how to have your Affirmation of Freedom to Marry notarised, see Information for British nationals intending to marry in Thailand.

You can get the AFM and marriage sorted within three weeks. You can also probably get her visa application submitted within that time. But, unless you are extremely fortunate, she wont get her result and, hopefully, visa until some time after you have returned to the UK.

We did the lot in Three days, affirmation of marriage, TB Certificate then Married, Put our Visa application in. and it took nearly three months to approve, which was normal for a settlement visa. If you have your paperwork done and a plan you can do it. You can walk in off the street and get married no appointment needed. All the Places you need to Visit are not far apart by sky train.
