fab4
Nattawut is not too bright,, doesn't he know Suthep can collect 5 million baht from Thai citizens in just a day's walkabout through Silom? And what would he do with that 5 Million baht that the minions loyal followers gave to him in good faith to fight the good fight? Pay people not to arrest him? I'm not quite sure I follow the logic of your post. Is there any?

taony
The reward is all for show...to get that couple days of media attention....just part of the continuing political tug-of-war. Preceisely. The reward is not even cash. Its money for a "startup". And I've lived in Thailand long enough to know it doesn't mean what its supposed to mean. So what does start up really mean? Is everyone out there with a dream for a business supposed to think "oh, let me go out and arrest Suthep, I can make all my dreams come true". Do they expect red shirts to all have business ideas in their back pocket? besides burning them to the ground of course.
boomerangutang
Thailand: The Hub of Empty Threats. What happened to the 1 million baht offer for Thaksin's arrest ? It was news for a day, then forgotten. What happened to Chaleum's promise to kill himself if Thaksin didn't come back by Xmas 2012 ? What about Thaksin repeatedly stating, "That's it. I'm through with politics" ? Did police looking for murder suspect ever ask the suspect's father (Chaleum) where the kid was hiding for months? Of course not. They knew it would be a waste of breath, because Chaleum, like his guru Thaksin, is genetically incapable of telling he truth. Plus, mafia boss Chaleum would probably have the person who asked the question beat up and/or fired from his job.

Mackie
About 60 out of the 73 Appointed Senators are. I'd have to do some digging to work out the allegiances of the rest. Bear in mind surachai got 96 votes so I'd guess about another 30 plus are as well Appointed senator Somchai Sawaengkarn said the voting patterns of appointed senators show that 60 of the 73 appointed senators are in the anti-government camp. The remaining 13 are believed to be aligned with the government, Mr Somchai said. http://asiancorrespondent.com/121241/the-reason-why-the-thai-establishment-likes-appointed-senators/ You've made a habit of posting off the topic. Are you also making up numbers or what? Would you be so kind as to enlighten people on this forum why you are talking about appointed senators instead of 5 million baht bounty (clearly illegal) put on Suthep head by Nattawut? Can't you read English any longer? Comprehension problems or something?
Morch
Don't suit the agenda, some agenda driven publicans will set up a reward for the capture of "Mandela of the East" Sounds a bit like the wild west and after seeing Jatuporns last "costume" in a previous OP I can see the fit here. What next? "Wanted Posters" on street corners with Suthep's face on it? Oh hang on…See below.. A principle of democracy is rule of law and the reds, yet again, will dismiss that principle to allow mob rule to prevail. I can imagine tumbleweed blowing down Democracy Monument at the crack of dawn tomorrow. BTW Godwin's law applies here as well... Normally, in democratic country is forbidden for civilian to reward police, because it's consider like corruption It's amazing to see a terrorist group to reward policemen for shutdown their opponent, a real dictatorship means.... Well done and thanks for inadvertently highlighting my point. Godwin's law does not apply to the PDRC though. Apart from that, well done and cheers. The point was actually that both sides made similar bounty offers. In my opinion, the concept is totally wrong, no matter which side does it and who is the target. It is also wrong regardless of which side is deemed more violent. If you wish to obfuscate each and every topic by expanding the its scope to include all aspects of the current political situation - you are welcome to do so, just that it does not really contribute much to the discussion. The relevance of Godwin's law to this is dubious.

noitom
Where were these Thai "businessmen" for the past six (6) months. They were waiting on the sidelines to see which way the wind was blowing. They should be ashamed of themselves not stepping forward earlier to publicly endorse Suthep's arrest and to help their nation and economy close the protests. Now they offer "money" to who? Police? Another travesty. Offering a cash reward to police whose job it is is to enforce law not bounty hunt. This is a great example of the Thai "payoff" system. The Thai buy your way out mentality. How can they ever change for the benefit of the Thai people?
