Card
I will be staying in a 5 star resort near Khao Yai with free breakfast, which would normally cost 800 baht per person, I am told. I'm looking forward to that, but what do 800 baht breakfasts look like? It will be a combination of Thai food and western food for sure. Anyone know any hotels in Bangkok that do similar, or have pics of such a spread?

lopburi3
A normal buffet type breakfast I would imagine. Hotels often charge a very high price for anyone not getting as part of there room rate. So should be plenty of everything available.
Sandman77
Some please also via versa In Pattaya often I pay only 69 thb more for breakfast ! But since 3 year I not like the American breakfast style with only toast and eggs and tasteless tea Order room without breakfast and then I can eat where and what I want

kurnell
Jesus I've been for dozens of breakfast buffets like that. All the 5 stars cost that much and some of the 4 stars also.
mrtoad
800 baht at a five star hotel is the going rate, so e a little more. Probably better than the crap 20 quid breakfast I had in a Gordon Ramsey place in London.
wooloomooloo
800 baht at a five star hotel is the going rate, so e a little more. It keeps the riffraff away. My wife and I stayed at a 4 star hotel in London last summer and breakfast was £13 a head and that was on top of the room rate. We stayed two nights and breakfast at £13 a head was obviously £52 overall. It was the best breakfast I've had for years and worth every penny. I've never had a breakfast buffet in Thailand that was worth more than 200 baht. My point was that even in London a £13 breakfast is well above average price but what one would expect to pay in a 4 or 5 star hotel either in London or LOS. But I would also expect a premium quality breakfast for my money. Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand
billd766
It was the best breakfast I've had for years and worth every penny. That was in London. I've never had a breakfast buffet in Thailand that was worth more than 200 baht. This year I stayed at a small guest house in Mae Sot at 900 baht a night plus 100 for breakfast. No evening meals are available. I joked with the owner about steak and eggs for breakfast Two of us started breakfast with coffee, then they brought 4 bacon, 2 ham and 2 fried eggs each followed by a second plate piled with the same amount (if we were still hungry). That was followed by watermelon, yoghurts, toast with butter and jam. I struggled but passed on the yoghurts and watermelon and staggered to the 2nd fried breakfast. It was an excellent guest house called the Suan Darb Porn Resort a little away from the centre of town in a quiet soi and worth every baht I paid even without the breakfast. farang000999
What is this obsession with hotel breakfast? All you are doing is filing up on food that you can eat cheaply back home instead of eating local Thai foods that you can't.

I eat Thai food all the time, so when I have the chance to eat something different, then a buffet with great choice is the obvious thing to go for. I don't need someone else to tell me what's good for me or what I should like. If I did then I could go back to my old home in the west to find people like you to tell me that.
tartempion
Often stay at Sofitel Sukhumvit, great breaky for that price. Smoked salmon, quiches, cheese room, cold cuts, fruit smoothies, full hot meals and many more. Yummy.

Maybe we like a good hotel breakfast, because we can't eat spicy food, or any hot food in the morning? Except for a soft boiled egg, I prefer cereals, fruit and good bread in the morning. Some juice made of real fruit, and lots of coffee. I eat spicy Thai food for lunch and dinner every day.
Albertosez
I took my girl to UK last year and we landed at Heathrow ( unfortunately ) and decided to have a couple of nights at the Hilton - and the room rate was ok. I didn't book breakfast because with the time difference and jet lag etc. you can never be sure at what hour you will sleep or wake up. Anyway, by the 2nd day we were getting adjusted and felt we could sleep and wake up at more or less local time. Whilst I was in the shower this particular night, my girl had picked up the breakfast menu that the porter had kindly left on our pillow and she quite fancied the breakfast in bed option - knowing that we could sort of eat and stop in bed if we were still tired. Good idea I said- book that and we can have another lazy day until we get sorted out. Following morning a nice breakfast is delivered to the room at 9am as requested- reasonable standard - as room service goes! We ate and I slipped back under the very comfortable quilt and happened to see the bill that she had just signed for. 38 f**cking quid for 2. X breakfasts....... which meant nothing to my girl because she didn't have a grasp of the currency back then. Unfortunately, I can't show you a photo of that 38 quid breakfast, but I can show you a picture of a raging bull ! Next 2 x days- nice Mcdonalds straight opposite- that did us quite nicely thanks! slipperylobster
I don't know about that 800 baht breakfast, but I got stuffed with a beautiful breakfast plate for 99 baht this morning at Sausage King in Chiang Mai. In fact, I decided to move in down the street...the menu looked that good. Just happened to be house hunting. In fact, the breakfast put me in such a good mood that I was able to pin down a nice rental with 5 minutes of the place. claaay
I don't really eat breakfast out but once in a blue moon, but I was pretty impressed with the all-u-can-eat spread Nasa Vegas provided about a year ago. Maybe 140 baht? Mostly impressed with the mounds of crispy American style bacon.
