The idea the Thai army is scouring an English language forum to look for "reds," then linking it to immigration is obsurd in the extreme. Thailand has enough sanctions about to hit it without arressting foreign holidaymakers over what they wrote in an online forum hosted in a different country.

I think you are just trying really hard to feel part of a colour or movement, in this case yellow. Its pathetic and typical of the sexpat retiree who cares little for the economy as their bank balance is unaffected,.

I guess you feel so much better now that you have that off your chest.

It's a shame you don't know what you are talking about.

Another of the ever shrinking group of pro PDRC sex pats that just doesnt understand what any of this is about.

Dont worry, you`ll work it out champ thumbsup.gif

Would love for you to let us all know 'what it's all about.'

About the demonstrators taking on the streets (though their number seemed only a fraction larger than the photographers, cameramen and other reporters, who probably just happened to be there fortuitously...?), let Thailand be 'civil' with them, something like Europeans could do, and have a Police force ('assisted' by some troops, to make sure they do their job) round them all up, no violence used, and proceed to control all of their ID-cards, add a fresh picture, and a handwritten note of each individual stating its current address, plus a strong, first and last, warning concerning the illegal activity which will automatically lead to an arrest for recidivists, scan all this info (1 A4 page max.), at once, on the spot, in a new data bank, repeat the operation at every meeting or gathering, 'remove', here by force if necessary, all the second offenders, and doing so, quickly and effectively avoid the repetition of 2009/2010. The ones caught would not be sent to jail, but spread over military camps, where for a few weeks they could enjoy a healthy, and sobering, life. Well, that's what I would do, but I'm just a Farang, and no general...

But they were not welcome in America so they moved to Thailand and joined the Thai visa forum so they could cry "Burn the red shirts" "Burn the red shirts" "Its all Thaksin (the devils) fault"

You missed a few. Some are crying about "burning the Yellows ". How fortunate that there are some rational TV Posters who are colour blind.

Not allowed to post slurs, degrading or overly negative comments directed towards Thailand, specific locations, Thai institutions such as the judicial or law enforcement system, Thai culture, or Thai people...and especially...the King...

These are serious Thai matters. Most of those who read and post here are guests of this country. It is unseemly, ungrateful and downright offensive for guests to interfere or criticise their hosts. This is not a matter of free speech but one of common decency and respect.

I agree. Unless we are criticising Thai person Thaksin, Yingluck, the red shirts. Then it is completely okay to interfere.

have you never heard of server proxy's?

many ISP's use server proxy's and IP routers, it would also be a hard thing to prove, as

A) There are many people posting from outside of Thailand, and are not residents or have resident status, so they're not in the country to break that country's laws.

B) many establishments have single IP's and then use an Intranet system where there can be up to 100 users on that IP, schools and universities being prime examples

;)

VPN FTW

Isn’t life going to be so much easier from now on living in Thailand, you never know they may eventually get around to re-writing the draconian discriminate immigration laws. Well one can still dream,

With respect, if you dislike the laws so much, why not leave?

With respect,

Does that mean that everytime you would wish your relationships to be a tad bit better,

You simply just put an end to it???

.

Just curious as to what percentage of TV posters you believe to be in Thailand at any given moment.

There are many good reasons to oppose Thaksin but some of the TV PDRC supporters are coming across as pretty evil now. True colours and all that.

Hadn't noticed. However, still lots of Red violent apologist activity though, but carefull disguised as anti Coup, not pro PTP/UDD?Thaksin

Well, I can appreciate the Junta's prosecution of violators of lese majesty law and coup orders as well as violators of internal security laws who will face court martial from the viewpoint of controlling the population during this "transition" period back to democracy.

But by suspending the Constitution with only the exception to Article 2 with the King as Head of State and completely disbanding all the elements of the Government (including the Independent Organizations), an accused would seem to have no rights from arbitrary and capricious prosecution. And being tried by a martial court operating under the sole legislative authority of General Prayuth might seem a conflict of interest. A better fascade of justice might be achieved if Prayuth restored the Administrative and Criminal Courts. Though if he did, it might not be surprising that he would maintain ultimate authority over any court decisions.

Not really. The BBC, CNN et al would do well to assign reporters who won't take the easy route when reporting and who would actually do an indepth analysis.

Of course. I get it now. That would be the version put forward by Suthep.

So who appointed the judges, and who made the laws and institutions through which Yingluck has been brought down. What was she guilty of again? Not corruption you will find.

Abuse of power. And what do we have now. A constitution suspended by a gun. And that isn't abuse if power?

Are you Thai? If not why didn't you leave last year instead of voicing your opinion here?

"re-writing the draconian discriminate [sic] immigration laws."

Spoken like a true serial border runner who sees everything in terms of his own person inconvenience now that the loopholes are closing.

... and what is the coup and the imposition of martial law all about boys & girls??

Most of the posters come from countries where free speech is a given. They are not disrespecting their hosts when they speak their mind, they are merely acting as if they were still at home.

There are still cases working their way through the system.

There are still investigations ongoing.

The future does not look bright for Yingluck.
