I need to buy a stainless steel mounting block

Featured Replies

I can't think of a good word to describe what I need..

On my pick-up I need to mount a metal 'shelf' or plate that runs across the width of the rear bin, supported on either side by bolting to the top edge of the bin, as well as resting on the bin edge just behind the driver's cab.

That metal plate will be used as a base to which my ham radio antenna is mounted. This antenna is heavy (several kg), because it includes a motor and high power coil.

The antenna (Shorty I) is pictured below.

(Obviously, this massive antenna is to make up for a very small penis.......)

I previously mounted the antenna onto the truck bin lip itself, but that was not strong enough to support the antenna without flexing.

So I need to buy a stainless steel plate about l x w x d = (width of the truck bin) x 2cm approx. x 15cm approx. These dimensions will ensure that the plate is sturdy enough to support the antenna without flexing.

Use of stainless steel will ensure that the mounting plate remains reasonably free of rust.

So...... any ideas of a shop in Phuket that can fabricate something like this, perhaps complete with mounting holes?

There is a huge work-shop that fabricates stainless steel and it is opposite Darasamut school, near Central Festival.

Can't remember the name, but, I think it is just a couple of letters.

Simon lives way up north of the island. Bound to be a stainless steel fab shop north of Heroines. After all there are boat yards up there.
