Melanomas - who to see in Chiang Mai

Have you guys who go to Dr Vachiriporn ever seen Dr Charbongcoch another skin doctor at RAM? She is good.

Yes, I have used both and both very skilled and both stunners. smile.png I only started using Dr Vachiriporn when I came in with suspected shingles a while back and the front desk looked at it and sent me to see her who verified it and put me on treatment. Dr Charbongcoch diagnosed a basil cell carcinoma on my neck and explained everything about it and what to do next. Between the two, Dr Vachiriporn does have a tad better bed side manner. But both willing to discuss and explain everything without rushing you.

who cares what the doctor looks like? i care about having a good doctor and could care less about appearance.

Given equal competence, I'll take the eye candy every time.

Both the Ram Drs are good doctors. One is older/more experienced with US training, the other very intelligent. Alternate inspections will give you the benefit of both.

I suspect I have a couple of basal skin cancers. I've had them before and both times they were cut out.

Is the treatment any different now?

Depends on how advanced they are, that is the size of them. In my case I let it go too long as I thought it was either an ingrown whisker on my neck or infected pimple. So they had to do a surgical removal. That was done by a general surgeon though a cosmetic surgeon can do it if appearance is an issue but at about twice the cost.

Even if Dr. Siri doesn't do surgery, as reported, it would well be worth the 2-300 thb for him to look at it. He's probably seen 10,000+ of them. I also appreciated his conservative approach.

No question, a diagnosis from Ajarn Siri would be money well spent.

Lovely guy and as you said, conservative approach.

BCC aren't much to worry about unless they are of the infiltrating type in which case they will spread.

Not life threatening but could be disfiguring from surgery if in the wrong place and not diagnosed/treated early...i.e nose, eye lid, ear lobe, penis etc.

Her correct name is Dr Chatbongkoch Khemacheewakul both ,IMO well trained and very professional.

Having had hundreds of BCC's removed as well as 2 melanomas (both on my back) in the last 35 years

as a result of surfing ,sport and farm work skin cancer is not something you mess with

If like me you are fair skinned and blue eyed the risk is much higher.

There is a male doctor at the Ram Hospital dermetology dept. also. Young guy. Totally worthless. Went in for a skin inspection and he glanced over missing many many things. Make sure you ask for the lady doctor.

today went for my usual check up with the c/mai ram.s vivacious doc vachirapornbiggrin.png , very pleased after her top draw evaluation procedures ,she gave me the all thumbs up, just a few burn offs needed

she commented that E/S was in top racing shapesmile.png i replied that in the past month been to my land down under ,virtually overdosing on OZ/S finest reds, that maybe the reasonlaugh.png

whilst having her beautiful presence, asked for her professional views on a herbal medcine, which E/S is about to start, after consistent years of nagging from my old shelia to do so

she said the herbal medcine was a good product, and E/S would have no probs at all ,

just a kind reminder to all members and guests reading this post, do not hesitate to seek a professional check up ,if u spot something unusual with your body, particular moles turning a different colour etc etc

and my stunning ,vivacious, dr vichiraporn is top of her profession , beleive me

total costs 1,560, baht, time spent 40 mins, but had a appointment slot, best to do so

a bloody bonza early evening to allsmile.png

OK it has come up again so I will put my oar in.

I will never go to RAM skin clinic again.

I went there because I could get in quickly. A lot of good it did me because it took 9 days before I got the biopsy results. I had to press the doctor whose beauty charmed so many to check me for other melanomas. So another visit after another biopsy.

Result 2 melanomas. She couldn't do anything about the first one on my forearm as lab had forgotten to include depth in the report. Lovely doctor was going on holiday so referral.

To cut it short, to pardon the pun, one removed and bill 30, 000 baht.

What was the Breslows's depth (or Clarkes Level) on the one you had done?

Who removed it general surgeon, demamatologist or plastic surgeon?

Location of the one removed would also be helpful to understand what was involved. Face often requires a plastic surgeon hence more expensive.
