Could someone please advise me on the following:

1. PALM SEEDS (LUK TAN)

I understand that these are the fruit of the palm tree and are similar to lychees. Can anyone tell me which type of palm tree these come from?

2. PALM SEED HEARTS (LUK CHIT)

These are clear, almost transparent. From what part of the palm seed do these come from? Do they come from the same palm trees as the palm seeds?

Is there a difference in what is referred to as 'seed' and 'fruit'? I notice that 2 types are referred to:

a. Attap - from the Attap/Nipah Palm (Nypa fruticans)

b. Toddy - from the Toddy Palm (Borassus flabellifer)

it comes from afica.look tarn is palm type same as coconut.but lychee is not one type of palm.Lychee comes from china.

2.look chit is not the same with plam seed.it is one type of plam.look chit is a seed.'Arenga pinnata (Wurmb.) Merr'this is a type of look larn.

ARENGA PINNATA (WURMB.) MERR and BORASSUS FLABELLIFER are the same tree.

They are synonyms.
