I actually know Chris, and I must say this sounds like a set up to me. I have only know him to be attracted to women not men or boys. My gut tells me this is a set up for cash. I hope the truth will prevail.

Setups with barely underage girls has been a routine here for years. Pure setup and extortion in some cases.

Chris has been working on a legal case against a guy in our building that was committing major fraud to build a roof top restaurant/bar illegally. This case is worth over a million dollars to the accused. As Chris was spearheading the case against the individual, it would be a great way to eliminate the prosecution by doing something like this to set him up. The devil is in the details but I have heard stories like this several times in Thailand. Personally I don't believe these charges.

Very interesting post. Thank you for bringing that one to our attention. Makes the story "flow" better!

Be wary of working against Thais in Thailand...

Very wary.

To many Pedo’s in Pattaya time the Junta shut the place down and sent all the sexpats home to their own country’s to fiddle with their own kids.

You're not wrong. This post shows the ones that have been caught, but I dread to think how many kiddy fiddlers are lurkingin Pattaya:

Here we go. All the "all Americans this, all Americans that" statements. As a Brit is winds me up when a Brit is hauled up and we all get tarred with the same brush. I KNOW it will wind up the Americans on here as they all get grouped in together. I know it winds up the Australians on here when the same happens to them, etc, etc

How about we discuss the issue and not the nationality this time round? That kind of conversation is only the domain of the knee-jerkers with nothing to add on the subject.

You are correct ... no nationality has the cornered the market on pedophilia and it's a worldwide scourge. Don't forget that some of the biggest child porn rings have been busted in places like Holland and Belgium, but I don't think that makes men in those countries a bunch of sick and twisted perverts.

There are plenty of these sickos to go around in every country, unfortunately.

Buddy. I used to work with the infamous "Swirly face" Chris Neil at an international school when I first moved here and he pulled the same charade... Always talking about boning bar girls and women. But the ugly truth was he was holding adolescent boys as sex hostages in his apartment. Now I don't know about the Chris you know, but the point is.... you NEVER know.

I abhor anyone who hurts children but i equally detest anyone who sets people up and damages reputations and lives.

Hope this story is properly sorted out.

I too think is not right to condemn anyone until there is more factual evidence. People just fire in with their hang em high' attitudes and should reserve judgement. Not that their opinions would help anyway, since these are just mere mutterings of TV members trying to look intelligent. Wonder what you would feel like if you was completely innocent then set-up like this. Don't get me wrong. If he is a kiddie fiddler 'throw the book' at him. However, give him benefit of the doubt first and I'm sure his background won't be too long in coming forth in the not too distant future.

Nuff said !!!

Just wondering, if he assaulted the boys in his home, and he was arrested at his home, why did they take a year to arrest him?

I'm not defending, just curious as to why they were arresting him on a warrant from 2013 only now when it doesn't even seem like he was trying to hide.

Maybe he pissed someone off....

This was the second time the "boys" have been assaulted...?

Seems there is a pattern here...did they try to escape the assault?

I don't like children being used for sexual favors...and I know they are under-aged...but there seems to be

some room for doubt...about whether they were "assaulted"...or "molested"...there is a difference...

I don't like children being molested, 'but...'

What if the boys were actually part of a sting. They were cared for and paid by the children's agency; together with police and the Welfare people, they helped set-up the sting(s)?

Yes, the boys are under-age--and if the man knew; therein, is the crime. Although, we may not like the 'sting' aspect perpetrated by our police and government agencies, the 'sting' has and is being used by law-enforcement agencies the world over.

However, aren't the child Welfare people guilty of something other than just perpetrating a sting operation; like providing young boys for sex, or at least contributing to the delinquency of a minor?

You KNEW THIS yet NEVER REPORTED HIM?

If what you're saying is true then you're slightly less guilty than he is for not reporting this to the police. How did you know this and why would you let it proceed?

If that's true: you know what would have been a great way to avoid that completely? To NOT bring a huge legal case against someone else in Thailand worth a million dollars. Shocking, I know.

The two boys had been staying at the Women and Child Shelter in Banglamung where they were being cared for following a previous case of sexual assault involving the pair.

Why do I get the feeling that these boys are operating some sort of a scam? They hang around walking Street and it is not the 1st time they have been sexually assaulted.

Don't get me wrong I hate kiddie fiddlers and if this guy did do anything to these kids then I say nail him up.

Personally I have a feeling the kids were working and got their customer and now see an opportunity to extort more money.

If these kids decide to go out and "work" as you put it, then who ever employs them is guilty of child sex abuse. If you understand the crime of statutory rape then you will understand this. A minor is not deemed capable of making such decisions due to their age.

So spermwhale used to work at a school and was entrusted with the welfare and safety of schoolage children yet was aware that a fellow employee held "adolescent boys" hostage in his apartment yet did nothing.

Hmmm...something sounds fishy here. Did spermwhale have something to hide and was afraid of a police investigation? What did spermwhale fear?

I think you guys are a bit confused.

The poster obviously didn't know about the bad stuff until after the pedo was listed by the global media for his crimes.

I agree with you 100% and fully understand sexual offence crimes, been dealing with them for years. You have no argument from me my friend.

Sounds like that shelter really takes good care of them. What were they doing, of all places, in walking street? Mind you, if the guy is a pedo, nail him. But the story is weird.

This is the immediate reaction I had. <deleted>?

Of all places? I have never been to Pattaya, however Walking Street is so notorious, I have heard about it many times.

He broke the legal age laws and faces punishment.

However the moralists are a bit over the top. The assaults are "alleged".

A crime is something seen to hurt another, and an assault is something done without consent.

If the report is accurate, it was not their first time and so they were not innocent minors. They knew what they were doing

and accepted money for a service.

It is possible they lied about their age, which he probably knew no doubt.

The unseen guilty parties? Parents, teachers, the carers, the community, the state and the whole country is also shamed,

for producing the poverty responsible. And so all of us, for not reminding everyone else, where those responsibilities lie.

What are theses 13/14 yar old Cambodian boy's doing in Thailand? Where are their guardians? are they here legally.

I am not defending this guy, if he did abuse them he is guilty. And should be sentenced as such. As for the boy's. They may also be guilty of soliciting

Food for thought, at age 13/14 how innocent where you. Never put your hand down a girls blouse or inside her knickers. I did and I was not damaged and as far as I know neither was any girl who gave me the honour.

Thanks for clarifying. His post seemed to insinuate he was aware of these incidents at the time.

When did he learn of the adolescent boys being held captive because this article made no mention of past history of such serious offenses and it would be relevant to the news article.

As always, here come the excuses, and the accusations that Thais must have 'set him up'...and it's all a massive conspiracy.

"I was just meeting my mates for a beer!" - and we just 'happen' to meet in a place world famous for underage prostitution.

"I'm a respectable teacher." - who just happens to hang around a place world famous for underage prostitution.

"This is all about a legal case." - which involves living in a place world famous for underage prostitution.'

Get a clue. You don't tune into football every day, unless you like football. And you don't live in Pattaya for years as a foreigner, unless you're into what goes on there.

OK so maybe I have a reading problem. Here's my interpretation of 'spermwhale's' post:

He refers to him as "Swirly face" which I assume is and ad hominem insult, then suggests boning bar girls and women is a charade for his real sexual preferences, then goes on to say that he was holding adolescent boys as sex hostages some time in the past when he had previously worked with this individual. Then he suggests that the person he knows as Chris Neil is somewhat different than the person the previous poster was writing about.

I don't find that amazing; I find it irresponsible.

I personally don't know Chris Neil so I couldn't tell you anything about him. He may very well be a sick individual.

Yes, in light of their previous behaviour, it does like some kind of a set up to me. Probably with the help of the RTP. But this does not excuse the 'kiddie fiddler' he deserves to get caught.

Exactly! This guy is accused of soliciting minors. No where in the article does it say that he was holding adolescent boys hostage in his apartment. Where did that GEM come from?

Setups with barely underage girls has been a routine here for years. Pure setup and extortion in some cases.

Even if nothing sexual ocurred how is it sensible in any way for a grown man to take underage boys he meets on walking street (or anywhere for that matter) to a home / room / whatever?

It's not a set up, possibly entrapment, but any person with half a brain would steer well clear of putting themselves in a compromising position such as what was reported.

If he actually took the boys back to his room then I would agree with you. If this is a set up and people were paid off then he may not have even taken them back to his room and the whole thing could be a set up from the get go. As I said the devil is in the details. At this point I am questioning the details.

In Saigon in the, '60s, I befriended two shoe-shine boys. When I came back into town, I would feed them, get them shoe polish or a t-shirt. I even let them shower in my room. No charges were ever brought against me, but you should have heard the rumors, the comments, the utter hate-speech I received from some.

Later, about 1970, back in Saigon, I took my future wife to lunch--the usual 'me-watch' boys were around. When we came back, her bike was gone. I questioned the me-watch kids and their boss turned-out to be one of those shoe-shine boys. After another drink inside, we came out to find her bike returned and washed.

For those of you wondering how he could possibly be a canadian, the clue is in the photo.

Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect Thailand

I've had a look at the photo ... his eyes, his nose ... I don't see anything that screams out Canadian.

He is wearing a short that says Canada. Are you suggesting that he must therefore be Canadian? So anyone I see wearing a shirt that says "Missouri State Uni" (or similar) must be American? Interesting - I never knew that. Far more Americans around than I ever knew. What about people wearing "Coca Cola" t-shirts? American too? And I guess all those dark-skinned, black-haired, Thai-speaking people I see wearing Chelsea FC shirts must be Brits.

Posted

Regardless of his nationality, if indeed he is guilty of sexually abusing kids, he should sent away for a long, long time to mix with other inmates that I'm sure would welcome him with open arms.

Even if the kids were doing that for quite a while, the American- if guilty- shouldn't have taken underage boys. If he likes that sort of stuff, why not in a boy go-go bar?

Something smells very fishy here and the boys might be back on the streets again, doing the same business. Who's protecting them? Cops?

That's also a part of why i hate Pattaya so much. It seems to attract all sorts of perverted and weird people. Full of sick people and criminals.

Well, I was just being the devil's advocate, but if you want an answer, perhaps the police and child welfare had gotten tired of waiting for a year for this man to commit a crime, so they decided a sting was the way.

Sick puppy. There was a story last week about a food vendor in Pattaya sexually assaulting a girl. I made comments in reference to foreigners both comments got removed. This guy is an example of what I was talking about. Good to see some action taken on this guy. Would be nice to see all the others cleaned off the streets their as well.

Sick puppy? Typical reactionary post by one of the "hang 'em by the nuts" brigade, who has obviously not been here very long. Someone points the finger, and all of a sudden he is guilty. Why not take the civilised approach and presume innocence until proven otherwise?

Whoa, whoa, Maejo Man, you are assuming a logical mind, when the obvious creed is, "There will be no logic applied here."
